How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No drinking glasses in the room, and the sliding shower door had come off so we were unable to use correctly..
We received a lovely welcome from the staff, they were very helpfull indeed.

The location is pretty grim, next to an A road service station, and two drive-in junk food outlets. The breakfast offering is poor, but that's not unexpected for an offering at this price level.

Hard chair. Noisy road at back of hotel, but fairly effective double glazing. Unable to see hotel from road, and winding road to get to it.
Excellent shower. Comfy room lovely smooth cotton sheets. Very clean and a fan was provided,which was very useful. Food and drink available. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Good price.

Bottled beer. No draft. Over priced beer.
Easy check in. Paid for breakfast which was worth every penny. Great choices for everyone/tastes. Good coffee!

Staff were accommodating as the twin room we booked needed to be set up for a birthday and also we needed to get ready for a festival and they couldn't do more to get us in our room as soon as possible as we were early.

The family room that was booked wasn't made up properly. There wasn't enough towels for a family. There was only enough tea making facilities for 2 people.
Bed was comfortable. Location was good and great services for food and amenities nearby. We checked in really late and the staff were helpful.

Does what it says on the tin - good, cheap accommodation, very handily placed off the main road. Accommodation is clean, beds are comfortable, showers hot. Useful things to know: there is a proper hairdryer (not one attached to the wall), reading lights, and the usual tea, coffee etc.

Air Con would be good.
Excellent security for motorcycles, clean room, about a 25 min walk to nearest bar/restaurant, staff were helpful. Would stay again.

As usual for the UK, no a/c. Provided a fan. Freeway noise if window open to let air in.
Very pleasant staff, very clean, convenient to Big Pit Mine, fast food and shopping.

Unfortunately it was the hottest day of the year and air conditioning would have been very welcome . The fans were ineffective compared to the heat.

The weather was hot so aircon would have been nice. Ground floor window didn't open much, understandably I suppose. But at the price, it's hard to complain.
Good value with breakfast including good coffee and tasty sausages!

The hotel was advertised as having air conditioning which swayed us to book it, the room air conditioning was a desk fan. I queried this with reception and was told the reception area had air conditioning, lucky them. The restaurant that was advertised was half a dozen table and chairs in the reception area, not what we expected. We had great difficulty finding the hotel because it was behind the dual carriageway and off the road that led to McDonalds, it would be helpful to put this in the directions.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
