Another very enjoyable stay at the Pontac House Hotel!!
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Twin/Double Room - Country View
    • Stayed 5 nights

The shower (via a mixer from the main tap rather than a separate shower unit) was very weak, possibly because we were on the 2nd floor.

Having stayed at Pontac House Hotel last year, we wanted to return this year. Our experience once again was wonderful, the staff were all lovely, the breakfasts were amazing, the pool was clean and a good temperature, the bedroom and en-suite were spotless and overall we felt it was excellent value for money. We were once again given a room with a sea view, although we booked the "country view". This was a lovely outcome although the south-facing rooms do get a bit hot during the day, which we mitigated by keeping the windows and curtains closed until the evening. The bus stops are right outside, and the location is perfect for south-facing sandy beaches.

Be aware that there are not many amenities within walking distance (the nearest pub is a steep 15 min walk away). However there is a bus stop right outside and easy access to the rest of the island.

Amazing service from the dedicated staff. The hotel was absolutely spotless, had decent facilities (particularly enjoyed the pool) and was great value for money.

The only problem during our stay was the fact that there was very little pressure in our shower.

The room had a Seaview. It was a very nice room with a wonderful view at the front of the building. The staff were efficient and friendly doing whatever they could for you. We had breakfast included. This meal was excellent and plentiful. We had dinner in the hotel a couple of times and that was excellent too. This consisted of four courses. You certainly wouldn't leave hungry! The swimming pool looked fine but, unfortunately, we didn't have time to use it.

The tv in my room wasn’t working properly. Despite staying 4 nights it was not attended to. WiFi reception was very poor. The manager’s attitude left a lot to be desired (felt uncomfortable in his presence). The other staff and the owner were delightful and extremely helpful and friendly.

Very quaint but cozy, friendly atmosphere. Staff were marvelous - impeccable service and food was delicious.

Some of the decor might look a little of it's time. A minor point though. The facilities were excellent.

Staff: I rarely put this as the first item on any review, but the staff here were exceptional. Friendly, professional, good at their jobs. They were all 'mature' folk, and knew how to treat people. From the front desk staff, restaurant employees, and cleaners, every one of them was welcoming and friendly. Location: far enough out of St Helier to feel rural, but close enough to be in St Helier in 10 minutes. The location of being just over the road from the beach was excellent. Morning and evening strolls along the sand was convenient and welcome. The nearest restaurant / pub (most southerly in the British isles) was only 10 minutes walk away. Free parking and always spaces available. Restaurant: Excellent set menus. Traditional meals, but with a modern twist. Excellent value for money (for Jersey) also. Really filling breakfasts. Pool: Nice heated pool. We were the only ones in it day after day. Might not look big in the photos, but certainly big enough for a good swim.

A vintage hotel with a small well-kept garden and swimming pool at the back, as well as interesting views of the expansive shoreline seen from the bar and dining room. This is a quiet corner of St. Clement, Jersey with a regular bus service to St. Helier and the Airport. The bus stop is directly outside the hotel.

The bathroom facilities let the property down. The decor, taps and shower are quite dated with poor water pressure.

The property is in an idyllic location, our room had far reaching views over the sea and the bus stop is on the door step to take you into Gorey or St Hellier. There is a coop a short walk away if you need anything. Staff are friendly and helpful. There was a constant supply of tea, coffee and toiletries. The room was immaculately clean with fresh towels daily.
