The only negative thing was the very spotty and rugged white carpet in the room and in the bathroom, too. That was rather disgusting! So you better bring along your slippers. But the beautiful and quiet room weighs that out.

The house does not look too welcoming from the outside but was nice inside with a big sitting room and winter garden for breakfast. Reception and parking was easy. We had booked a two single bed room and got a really spacious and light family room with a solid and comfortable kingsize bed and a single bed upstairs the main house. The big sofa was clean, too. The view into the countryside was stunning. Big bathroom with clean facilities like a bath tub and a good shower. It was quiet and peaceful.

Was a bit dirty in places. Bathroom wasn't the best, shower pressure in particular was extremely weak. Walls were a bit thin, could hear other guests at times

Nice location, peaceful, great breakfast, good sized room and bathroom, clear communication and directions

A traditional "B&B" as you may have known it a few decades ago, in the last century
    • Business trip
    • Family with young children
    • Double Room with Extra Bed
    • Stayed 1 night

    - location "in the middle of nowhere" (you definitely need a car to go places) - ironic that the 3-bed family room is smaller and without any en-suite facilities while the much larger double bedroom comes with its own large bathroom. It certainly should be the other way round... - communication with the hosts proved to be a bit difficult. We did not get any replies to our texts

    - location "in the middle of nowhere" (idyllic & quiet) - beautiful interior decor - the en-suite double bedroom on the first floor at the back of the building is very spacious, bright and has the most beautiful views across the surrounding scenery - huge, comfortable lounge - big, bright conservatory at the back of the house - very yummy freshly cooked breakfast at GBP 10 extra per person - I particularly loved the host's affectionate, playful pug who did her bid to give guests a warm welcome when they arrive

I booked this B&B for friends (as advised). I was told the first night's stay would be taken from my credit card in confirmation. When my friends arrived, they were told quite bluntly that they could not have the key until they paid the full amount. I have searched and I cannot find the withdrawal from my AMEX account. This was embarrassing for all concerned. My friends paid the full amount, but if in some way I was charged the first night, obviously I want a refund.

According to my friends the bedroom and breakfast were satisfactory.

Dated interior of room, basic but clean. Shower has zero pressure if used in shower position. Had to sit down to get any water pressure.

Good location and close to Folkestone and Dover. Nearby village to Wye was nice. Cost was good compared to other places in the area. Family room was a good size with decent sized separate bathroom.

The curtains were so thin that they let in all the sunlight. And the sun… it was shining directly onto our window, so by 4:30 AM the room was fully lit, waking us up. The bed was a spring mattress, which meant that every time one of us turned over, the other got bounced into the air. It was quite small and especially too short — as average-height people, our legs were hanging off the edge. The shower pressure was literally drip, drip, drip — just a few drops came out, making it impossible to actually shower. I mentioned this to the owner, who said they weren’t really aware of the issue. The breakfast was good, but very minimal. Just one piece of toast per person. In general, everything that was served felt insufficient. All in all, we didn’t have a great experience. We would really recommend the owner to address these details and make sure the room has proper curtains and a much better bed, so guests can sleep comfortably — especially for the price we paid. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment.

Roomy, english style b&b, nice house, good location, friendly owner

Water pressure was low so we asked about it and he explained the problem.

Tony was friendly and chatty. Enquired about taxi and was told it would be very expensive so he gave us a lift

I'm not a fan of shared bathrooms although this was easily accessible during our stay. Facilities are quite limited i.e. no bar or snacks etc

Plumpton House is an ideal location for the channel tunnel. Although property feels a bit tired in places it met my expectations and was very comfortable.

I didn't have an ensuite bathroom but that could have been because I didn't read the details properly. It was an unpleasant surprise though! Also the bin in my room hadn't been emptied from the previous occupant.

Maybe a menu for breakfast? and offered how we would like our eggs cooked. Also a little back ground music in the breakfast room.

The location was perfect for our stay for visiting Port Lympne Zoo. Our view from our room was absolutely stunning, a real selling point! The jacuzzi bath was a great surprise too! We slept perfectly, very comfortable just the right temperature and very peaceful.

I found hair in the glasses on both days when we had breakfast. The water bottle in the room was very dirty and we couldn't use the contents. The inside of the wardrobe and desks were dirty. The outside area of the house where the chairs and tables are located, right behind the laundry room, was extremely dirty. I couldn't sit on them in the middle of the afternoon.

Excellent location for where we wanted to go and hospitality present.

The bedside lights didn't work- in a family room this was an issue as had to sit in dark once kids put to bed. No obvious wifi code. Lots of ladybird visitors in room although kids enjoyed these!

Very good size room, comfy beds, gorgeous location, welcoming host, easy safe parking, nice breakfast with a good selection (although I misread booking and wasn't included as expected). It was dated but bedding and bathroom was clean.
