The hotel is on a busy road junction, so there is constant traffic noise.

The location was very convenient, not far from the station and within easy walking distance of the town centre - ideal for those, like us, travelling without a car. The rooms had clearly been recently refurbished and were clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The only thing was that unfortunately we were on the top floor without air conditioning and although we could open the window and we had a fan ,it was unbearably hot as we'd visited on an exceptionally hot weekend. I'd definitely stay at The Plough again on a cooler weekend as we had a great time exploring Northampton.

We had to wait a little while for the receptionist to appear at check-in and for breakfast, but that wasn't really a big issue.

The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large with a lovely shower. It was extremely hot but a fan had been put in our room and there was free water in the fridge. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from the theatre, so very convenient. Breakfast was £10 which was very reasonable, and the cooked breakfast was quite big, so good value for money.

The room was tastefully decorated with large opening windows including blinds and curtains. The bathroom was spotless and spacious, with a large powerful shower and lovely soft towels. Also included were dressing gowns, slippers and buscuits

Room 4 was disappointing. It was clean, had a fridge and the bathroom was very big. However the bedroom was quite small with a huge tv in front of the window so it was very difficult to draw the blind and curtains, especially with the wardrobe and cupboard in the way. No chair either. The tv needs to go on the wall so you don't have to look sideways to watch it.

There was no elevator. The shower heads placed on top are not suitable for woman needs. There was no sound proof, especially from outside. The matress was of poor quality.

There was some traffic noise but I chose the hotel as it was near the railway station for my return journey to London. I didn't mind it really.

The staff members were kind and considerate. I'm disabled and walk with a walking stick. One staff member carried my luggage up to the first floor and another was kind about showing me that my room had a bath and shower and enquired if that was ok for me. I love a bath but do sometimes have problems getting in and out of them.This bathroom and bath were wonderful; large and absolutely spacious enough for easy access. I loved the room and the large bed. This was room 3 which I'll ask for next time I'm here. The breakfast was superb. The little fridge was a nice addition.

Greeted with a smile on arrival and reception staff were helpful throughout my visit. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was excellent - a few mins walk from town centre and parking for free on-site was a real bonus. Cooked breakfast was really good and freshly cooked to order.

There is no lift and so there’s quite a lot of stairs if you’re on a higher floor and have a heavy bag it might be a problem, although I’m sure the wonderful staff would help if necessary. The cooked breakfast was really good but could have been slightly smaller. I don’t think two fried eggs each was necessary.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean with a large comfortable bed. We were given lots of lovely fluffy towels and the shower was great with good water flow and temperature. The breakfast ( full English) was really good and delicious. Generally excellent value for money, particularly as the parking was free.
