There are a few things, such as noisy floors, outdated electrical socket’s and fans that you couldn’t get to sleep with as for the noise. Then you take into consideration the age of the building along with appreciation of it and you just have to let these go, as it’s just so beautiful.

Food was good, well presented, good value though menu was quite traditional gastropub.

Beautiful countryside, handsome house, nicely landscaped garden, friendly catering staff and relaxed atmosphere. Easy to walk along river Usk from the house and convenient for Brecon Beacon walks.

The hotel is in a stunning location - the room was like a mini suite - tastefully furnished with all the little extras - lovely home made biscuits.Lovely comfortable bed. Beautiful grounds - the resident gardener is doing a great job. Lovely staff.

We had booked and paid for a room with a mountain view, which we didn't end up getting. However the view and room were both still lovely

Could have been slightly cleaner, there were a few cobwebs and surfaces with built up dust on.

I enjoyed the location, the garden in front of the court yard was beautiful.

I think there wasn’t anything which we didn’t like. Maybe the background music in the breakfast and the dinning room could have been a little more varied as after 3 days it felt a bit repetitive.

Room was brilliant: up stairs ( to keep us fit) and wonderful views, very comfortable and spacious, bed amazingly comfortable. Both breakfast and dinners were very good with enough choices to keep us happy. Staff, all of them, very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The gardens are very well cared for, beautiful and tranquil, with walk down to the river and further, if wanted.

Great hotel, perfect location for exploring the Brecon. Stayed on the top floor in ‘Talybont’, quite a few stairs but worth it. My wife used the spa several times and was very happy with her treatments. Restaurant food was very good, menu didn’t change but that’s fine for a 2 night stay. Would recommend the hotel.

If you are on the top floor, there are a lot of stairs, and it's not so easy to manage with cases.

We had a lovely, large room with a view of the hills and a generous bathroom with fluffy towels and robes. The food was exceptional at dinner and breakfast, as was the friendly service from all the staff. I enjoyed an excellent coffee in front of the fire in the beautiful panelled lounge. We explored the grounds with a woodland walk down to the river; it was such a genuine surprise to find beyond the garden and pool. Such a peaceful place, a welcome retreat.

No iron or ironing board in the room.. No welcome pk with menu etc.. And spa was full . For the 2 days, they could have told us when we arrived to book now because it fills up quick .

Breakfast continental could have been improved slightly with fresher things and nicer coffee also.

Lovely setting and a really nice lounge by the fire place with some games. Staff were all exceptional and friendly. Rooms were very clean and had all we needed. The spa is small but lovely for the hotel and the massage was lovely. It is just missing the extra few touches to exceed to the next level.

Would have preferred a shower in the room aswell.

A beautiful country house in a secluded peaceful location. Everything was faultless, we were particularly impressed by the large roll top bath. Staff were friendly and attentive and our evening meal was delicious.

We felt a little uncomfortable with lack of window coverings in the bathroom but, overall, the room was lovely

I do not think that dogs are acceptable in a Restaurant and mentioned this on arrival as we were greeted with a dog at reception. There was a dog in the breakfast room but a lovely lady moved us to the conservatory and could not do enough for us. She was excellent and did not make us feel that we were a nuisance even though she had to carry everything in to us. Well done to this lovely member of staff. Great food at Dinner.
