My sister and her husband were given what was called a small double. This room in our opinion should have been single occupancy only. You could not walk around the bed. You could not sit up and watch the TV from your bed as the ceiling was so low. My sister's husband hit his head on the ceiling several times. The gap between the bed and the wall so small that you bang your legs on the radiator. There was no bedside cabinets, and the sink was next to the bed. The shower and toilet was in a cupboard in the wall. The only thing wrong in the room myself and my husband were staying in was that the mattress was hard and uncomfortable and the metal framed bed moved and was noisy. I did email after our stay to advise Penny Farthing of our comments but received no reply.

The property is clean and inviting, the breakfast was lovely and hot and well presented.

The hotel was cosy and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very good, a short walk to the high street and with parking on site it was easy to spend some time in town with the New forest also an easy walk away. The room was a good size and bed comfortable. They serve a nice breakfast

Very noisy road at the front. Was really loud all night long. Quite hot too, luckily there was a fan.

Would be nice to have a pocket sprung mattress instead of standard springs as the mattress was springy when turning and not too comfortable. Also the road noise made it hard to sleep. Last time we stayed we were given a room off the road and liked it more.

Didn’t like the beds not good for my back and squeaked as you moved quite narrow too

Location good very nice people we stayed in the Tandem room I hadn’t realised I’d booked a twin When opening the windows the noise of the traffic was loud so had to shut windows and put the fan on. The breakfast however was very good nice and hot staff were very nice so in all it was a pleasant stay

Unfortunately, the skirting boards in the bedroom could do with a clean! Along with the doors and toilet roll holder! Not just the floor, which was fine throughout. A small point, we could not get the TV to receive BBC or ITV! 4 in a Bed would have a field day lol. Bed was comfortable though. So, slept well.

Breakfast was lovely, bacon had a lovely flavor. Overall we liked the breakfast & staff friendly and helpful. Hotel in very convenient location for our visit to the New Forest.

Soundproofing between rooms wasn't great. You could hear random children running around, dogs barking and people shouting. How good you slept was dependent on how noisy other people were. First night was awful as had noisy family above with kids running between the tiered rooms. Second night was great! Third night was bearable!

Adjoining large rooms so children can sleep in a different room (but attached) to parents room, giving them space and independence. Comfortable beds. Tea/coffee/biscuits provided. Breakfast and selection was good. Hotel close to restaurants/pubs/shops. Friendly and welcoming staff. Car park.

We were happy with the service provided.

From the moment of our booking, we were really impressed by the efficiency and welcome we received from all of the staff. We emailed to check our golden labrador was welcome and got an immediate positive response, which was great. He even got his own sausage at breakfast. Our breakfast was lovely too! The bed and the pillows were super comfy. Free parking and walking distance to the high street and parkland, where we saw the ponies. It was a warm evening, so we were glad to have the fan that was provided.
