Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

May some safety/hightlighting tape on the bathroom floor. The bathroom was beautiful but it had a step that we kept tripping on

No dining area, with only a small folding table for use in the kitchen, which would have needed moving and opening, folding up again every meal. It has a nicely appointed bathroom with shower/bath combo. The floor is polished wood, attractive but slippery. The bath is on a pedestal, and difficult to get into, and out of. Some older members of the group, felt it was too risky to use.
Parking and supermarket very close. Very quaint cottage, nicely presented. Well appointed kitchen.

4 people in a hurry to get out to a wedding is a challenge with only one bathroom. Made unnecessarily difficult when there is only a bath and hand held shower and poorly thought out shower curtain.

The mattress could’ve been a bit thicker. Other than that
The whole place is quite special. Great location, sufficient space, clean, good plumbing, nicely decorated. The narrow, winding stair, as can be considered part of the charm.

The shower curtain over the bath was a little challenging. The various changes in floor levels to the first floor were a consideration. The dining area was restricted.

Key safe was a bit difficult to opperate. Walk-in Shower would have been easier than bath.
The location was very convenient. A very nice cottage with easy access to town and shops. Also a garden to sit in when the weather was good.

Stairs are a hazard with a serious accident waiting to happen. Wife slipped down stairs and just managed to halt her fall. No bannister rail and stairs are very steep. Outside rear Patio area needs attention and has obviously been neglected and no gardening work has been done. Patio overgrown with weeds, some over 2 feet tall. Also garden furniture is tatty and needs either replacing or refurbished. Similary the front garden is an eyesore and needs some sprucing up. Cleaning fell short of what we expected, eg Kitchen flooring was sticky with stains, mirrors smeared, Stains on Main bedroom carpet. Parking away from property may be an issue for some also having to pay and adhere to timings etc a bit of an inconvenience

The overall temperature in the house was too hot, and then too cold. The shower wasn’t very functional, you either had to sit in the bath and shower yourself as no hook for shower, or stand up and shower yourself - with both shower curtains inside of the bath, I didn’t really have much room. The water was again flicking between boiling hot and freezing cold, which was really difficult to control. The bath stood beautiful on a step, however being 5’2 it was hard to get out of, nothing to hold onto and could be a hazard. Had no where to put bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash, so just had to put that inside of the bath. It was almost too clean, I felt that I had to very careful all the time with what I was doing or eating, so couldn’t relax fully. I felt that the price we paid was mostly due to the cottage being in the centre of Tenterden, rather than the practical side of actually living there.
The place was an ideal country cottage, visually was beautiful and very clean. The extras of Netflix always win!
