Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelOn the downside, one of the bathrooms had a smell, which was only partly fixed after a few days, and the facilities listing wasn’t fully accurate (no dryer, though drying racks were provided). A few basic supplies were also missing at first but later brought in. Still, with its comfort, helpful staff, and excellent location, Shaw House made for a pleasant family stay.
We stayed at Shaw House as a family of five and overall had a very good experience. The apartment is spacious, clean, and in a fantastic location — just a short walk from Hyde Park, Regent Street, and Oxford Street, with a Tesco supermarket nearby. The complimentary upgrade to a 4-bedroom unit made our stay much more comfortable and excellent value for money. Beds are big and very comfortable with soft bedding, and both we and the kids slept really well. The portable air conditioning worked great (five units in total), and we also appreciated being able to store luggage in the lobby.

United StatesThe washer and dryer situation wasn’t explained so we struggled to figure out the best way to go about washing our families clothing and getting it dried in a timely manner. Figured out a method but would have liked some instruction. To be fair, when we arrived there was 3 groups checking in at same time and I appreciated how helpful the staff was with getting our luggage up to our room.
Great location and spacious

AustraliaA few finishes required updating but that didn’t affect our stay. It’s probably not as polished as a some more expensive accommodation but it really doesn’t matter because it has space and is comfortable. Because it’s in a more pucker area you won’t find cheap eateries but that’s not a big deal because you’re walking everywhere anyway and can pick up what you need along the way.
It was in a very accessible area in the middle of either side of the main tourist areas we were interested in seeing. It was relatively quiet allowing for decent sleeps and being able to reset away from everything but a short walk to the action. Staff were very very helpful. Well priced

United KingdomThe apartment could do with a refurb, but that would move it out of our price range.. so overall it was perfect 🥰
Very spacious and spotlessly clean - plus it was in a brilliant location for our visit - walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus 😀 We were supplied with a high chair and cot which we requested when booking.

United KingdomThe underground can be heard from the back bedroom, the kitchen needs attention ie dishwasher broken, also the cupboards need some tlc. The shower is very small making it hard to have a comfortable shower as were curvy people, also the shower over the bath was piping hot and couldn’t cook so we didn’t use.
The property was a great location to gain access to places in London. It was a great space having the two rooms plus the lounge and kitchen area.

ItalyThe elevator is an "antique". It works but very heavy and clunky. And the doors are extremely heavy. So get ready for some stairs exercise or some wrestling exercise with elevator doors.
Great location, you can walk everywhere. Lots of great spots to visit at a short distance from the apartment. Apartment is good, furnished and with a kitchen (we didn't use it much, great choice outdoor of bars, cafes and eateries at any time of the day)

LithuaniaWe had quite many issues with facilities in the apartment- one WC was out of order, and in one bathroom water was impossible to regulate- it was boiling hot, dishwasher was not working, and trying to use toaster caused electricity jump- so refrigerator was off for several hours… Each in isolation maybe not so bad, but all together were annoying, especially thinking about price I paid. WC was fixed, although quite late in the evening, water regulation fixed for one evening- basically already next day we had same issue. Dishwasher was not fixed - instead i got a promise that they will do my dishes every day, and even though I would not agree to that, but finally it was just a promise - no one came to do my dishes even once in 7 days:) We stayed for full week, so after couple of days I needed to sweep the floor, but there is no equipment in the apartment to do simple cleaning. I asked for a broom from the host- he didn’t even answered, probably was tired of my problems:) Finally- lucky me- I have borrowed vacuum cleaner from the maid in the hall. So, summarizing, these small issues worsened overall good feeling.
Location is perfect- you can reach most of the tourist visited places just in half hour by foot. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, several small supermarkets around, also Shepherds market just around the corner where you can find small restaurants/cafes. Underground in 5-7 minutes walk. Apartments are spacious (we stayed in nr 4), we are family of 4 with teenagers, so for us was good to have two single beds for teens, it was hard to find in other apartments. Kitchen has all needed equipment for longer stay. Two bathrooms.

United KingdomCant control the central heating, so we needed to set up the portable heaters in each room. The pictures doesn’t really match to the actual visit otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
It is like 10 mins walk to birmingham palace. We were apparently upgraded to a 4 bedroom which is great

Very easy and smooth communication, the agent was very flexible with our ETA. The apartment was very clean, not noisy (as in a little street) and comfortable. Generous welcome pack we didn't expect. Super convenient location and overall good value for money being London. We will definitely come back in the future.
