How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There should be a mirror on the dressing table. There was a faulty bedside light which kept tripping the power. Not repaired but not too inconvenient.
nice, spacious room, big bed, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-fridge, iron and ironing board. Excellent bar area. Great location for the city centre.

The aircon didnt work,so I phoned and it immediately got fixed,but then through the night I tried to put it on again,and it didn't work,I gave up at this point,but I always like to book a room with air-conditioning,and shouldnt feel the need to keep ringing down to het it fixed,there is no windows to open do the room felt really stuffy with no air
The room was very clean,the bed was big and comfortable,it was right near the ao venue,thats why we booked,close to train station aswell

View from restaurant windows. Only one member of staff in restaurant on arrival. My wife asked for mayo to go with her chips but it never arrived! Food choice limited and wife did not enjoy veggie burger

Reduced use of the pool for children.

There was nothing that could have been done better in our opinion. Everything was not only up to our expectations but in some cases beyond them.
We really enjoyed the spacious room, the very hospitable staff, the relaxing pool and sauna and the tasty breakfast and restaurant. The location was perfect for us.

The only thing asa that the bed was too hard for me.
Arrived at the hotel a little early and was allowed into the room, which was really good. Room was bigger than expected and the position to the AO arena plus car parking was perfect. Coffee & tea making was ideal and for someone who only drinks herbal, it was good to see a couple of those by way of choice. Car parking was reduced with a validating card from the hotel. Staff were friendly on arrival and departure.

The room size was perfect not too big or small, the bathrooms were clean and the mirror was big, sink storage space for toiletries was very large, section of the mirror didn’t fog up, iron and hairdryer were detachable and very useful, lots of space to put things, check in and out was seamless, super close to the ao arena

Our pillows were flat as a pancake. It was late when we returned back to the hotel so I didn’t ask for more pillows, which I’m aware I could have.
Location is fantastic for AO arena, short walk to shops and main train station. Hotel is great in general, the only thing that would have made it better would have been extra pillows.

Two things in particular were very disappointing. We had paid for a double room and received a room with two single beds joined together - these beds occasionally came apart. This was uncomfortable and annoying to say the least, and not what we had paid for at £300 for two nights. Secondly, the bedroom door shook loudly whenever guests in a room nearby came in and out. I've never experienced that in a hotel. Even with ear plugs, it woke me up. We ended up putting a towel under the door the second night, which helped. Other small points like empty shower gel on arrival and floor and bathroom that looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned did not help.
They allowed us to check in early when we had only expected to drop our bags off. The lobby area was nice - the lime infused water for guests was a pleasant touch after a day out. The room was quite spacious too.
