Some of the rooms had a few dated appliances, hair drier shaving light etc, and bathroom fittings but I think work was being carried out to improve these. These however are minor issues and should not affect your decision to Stay.

Breakfast was as good as I have had anywhere and I travel a lot for work. Location was a little isolated but I was only there for one night. Ample parking. Decoration in bar/restaurant area were excellent. The evening meal was also exceptional would 100% use if I was local and have recommended the same to Locals. The dink choice and quality was also excellent. Tea and coffee facilities were excellent in the room.

The bed was a shocker. Soft mattress with no support and a very creaky bed which woke us up if we turned over! The walls are very thin. I didn’t enjoy listening to the neighbours using their bathroom and felt uneasy using ours for the same reason. The bathroom was furnished with a shower curtain which personally isn’t something I like. Probably due to the fact that it was a wet area. The flooring needs replacing as it is coming away from the walls. There is some noise from the car park as customers come and go, as well as from the nearby main road. The location is a drive to anywhere. Quite an isolated location.

The hotel is designed around Oliver Twist with quotations on the wall. We never did find out the significance. Nicely decorated and a friendly atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant area. The food was lovely and the staff amazing. Thanks to Emma for a warm welcome and looking after us, as well as to the cook and staff at breakfast. Our room was spacious with a large ‘wet area’ bathroom and we could park outside the door. There is the usual array of tea and coffee in the room with great biscuits. Free WiFi is available.

Surprised by the flight noise well into the evening - presumably military aircraft (?). Main building looked slightly in need of a facelift. Coffee at breakfast was very weak (from a machine) so espresso a much better option.

Comfortable room, but it needed a second leisure /armchair so that both parties could sit and relax rather than being perched on a bed. Would have appreciated having a spare blanket available, but a very flexible heating system in the room compensated. Lovely friendly staff. Property is nicely tucked away off major A roads but with easy access to those trunk roads. Very good food.
