Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was perfect!
This place is out of a dream, or a movie! Every detail has been considered, and provided for your comfort and pleasure. We arrived hungry and tired after a long day of driving, and were greeted personally and warmly by Piotr, who helped us with our luggage, and showed us to our beautiful "Sapphire" room. Piotr kindly made a dinner reservation at a nearby hotel restaurant for us, gave us a tour of the dining room, lounge, sun room, and took our breakfast selections for the next morning. When we returned from dinner, a welcome drink and snacks were waiting for us in our room. There is coffee, tea, and a welcome bag of assorted cookies for you to enjoy before heading down to an amazing breakfast that is lovingly prepared by Aleksandra. Savoury selections of different cheeses and fish, sweets, homemade jams and breads, and freshly squeezed juices are laid out beautifully for you to enjoy BEFORE you are served your cooked to order selection! It was the most extraordinary breakfast we have ever been served in a Bed and Breakfast anywhere. If you are visiting the Whisky area, this is the place for you-this is the place, even if you are not visiting the Whisky distilleries-it is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, and one of the most memorable places ever. The only regret we have is that we only had one night, and not enough time to use the luxury bathtub! Thank you Piotr and Aleksandra. The love you have put into your inn shines through in every lovely detail!!

SwitzerlandEverything was perfect, there's nothing to complain about! Just be mindful the entrance is a bit narrow, you need to be careful with the car (but really, nothing dramatic)
Piotr and Aleksandra are incredible hosts, the property is fantastic, the view is amazing and the rooms are so beautiful. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast that will compete with any restaurant we tried in Scotland, Piotr and Aleksandra will do everything in their power to make you comfortable and happy

United KingdomIf anything breakfast was just a bit too much food. I felt like I wanted to eat more than I could haha! It would be good if you could put a couple of spare bowls/plates out on the buffet - I used a plate for my Greek yoghurt before I noticed there were bowls, and then there wasn't another plate for me. We were also missing cuttlery - there was only a (fish?) knife at each place setting. Finally, I would have appreciated being told that the delicious sourdough croissant bread was also going to be served with my eggs benedict. I ate a whole slice of it with the amazing rhubarb jam and it was the most delicious bread I ever tasted, but had I known another slice was coming with the eggs I would have probably only eaten a few bites of it. I couldn't eat anything else until 4pm that day haha! Really not a complaint, everything was just too delicious, but perhaps this is helpful feedback. I hope so!
The location is really lovely, not too far from Aberlour for dining options and the view from the garden/hot tub area was lovely. The only thing that could make it any better would be if it were slightly further back from the road, but this cannot be changed and it really didn't bother or impact us! We loved the decor, the luxuriousness of the room and bathrooms as well as the public areas. It has all been really beautifully done and makes it worth the extra £100 or so we paid over a standard hotel room in the area. It feels like something a bit special, which is exactly what we were looking for to celebrate a special occasion. The breakfast was incredible!

GermanyWe've traveled a lot in our lives and have seen many beautiful places, but our stay at the Old Manse of Craggan was definitely an experience we'll never forget! The entire setting, the lovingly and tastefully decorated house, and, above all, the attentive service from our extremely friendly and welcoming hosts, Aleksandra and Piotr, was above average in every aspect. We will recommend this outstanding bed & breakfast to all our friends and would be happy to return ourselves one day. Cornelia & Markus

United KingdomOur stay at the Old Manse of Craggan was a very unique and special experience. On our arrival Piotr and Aleksandra were extremely welcoming, attentive, assisting with our luggage, friendly, willing to provide the history of the building, renovations and their journey to Speyside. This was followed by some delicious snacks and soft drinks in a beautiful garden setting, looking out over the rolling landscape. On such a beautiful evening the experience was breathtaking. There is a hot tub located in the garden with an elevated view, it looked fantastic but on this occasion we had an evening reservation and didn’t use it. The Old Manse has undergone an extremely high level upgrade with some very niche touches making the rooms especially colourful and grand. Their attention to detail is impecible from the wall coatings, bedroom, bathroom fittings specially artistically matched to the last detail. The breakfast with a continental buffet, fantastic selection of fresh fruits and a cooked selection menu which was a feast to behold, with a special mention for the home prepared herrings, absolutely delish. We were extremely well looked after during our stay and have already booked to return in July. The title “boutique” B&B is truly well earned, and certainly one of the best boutique stays we have experienced. For couples wishing to experience a truly remarkable boutique experience I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Old Manse of Craggan. Fantastic job done by both Piotr and Aleksandra wishing you all the best in your venture.

United KingdomThis is a lovely place to stay in an idyllic location. There's a really well positioned hot tub which has a beautiful elevated view over hills and farmland. The hosting from Piotr and Aleksandra was an easy 10 out of 10. They were very welcoming and on the ball with everything. They went above and beyond to make our stay really special and were always available to assist with any requests. They were also keen to hear feedback when we were checking out which shows their clear commitment to running their accommodation to a really high standard. Thanks for a lovely stay and all the best for your future together.

A true home away from home nestled in the beauty of Glenlivet. A warm welcome on arrival, followed by nibbles and a tipple, a jacuzzi with beautiful views across Ballindalloch, the fire lit when we got back from dinner, every attention to detail (the little things like locally sourced snacks for the room, aromatherapy bath salts) and the breakfast was out of this world!

United StatesMy wife and I were greeted with a warm welcome as we stepped out of the car, Piotr helped unload and carry our luggage inside as well. We were shown around our room and informed on how to use all the amities. Once settled we were given the most delicious sweet and savory snacks to continue the welcome. We later were given a tour of the grounds and admired all its beauty and history. Once we settled into our room for the evening we enjoyed a bath in a very luxurious bathroom where no detail was left undone. The floor is heated, the tub is spacious, the towels soft and warm as well as the most amazing robes to continue relaxing in. The carpet was extremely spongy and oh so soft, as well as the bed and chairs in our stay room. The view from the windows were stunning and having a wood burning fireplace in the room for added comfort was just the right touch. The decorations through out the entire home were phenomenal even down to the fresh flowers in every room. We selected to have the French toast and traditional Scottish breakfast, they both were absolutely delicious, along with our breakfast we had options for fresh smoked fish, fruits, yogurt, bread and so much more. Overall our stay was an experience we will never forget and we look forward to staying there again next time we visit Scotland. The Brewer's were very satisfied.
