Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeautiful island. Stunning view 😍 Other Islands just minutes away with their unique history. Oban wasn't too far either. The house was perfect for our family of 4, clean and cosy, washing machine and dishwasher was a big plus. Bette and Nick were the perfect hosts. They were always there if we needed anything. I greatly appreciate that we have been given the opportunity to feed the lambs. They were so sweet and cute, most wonderful creatures 🐑🤗

United KingdomOur stay at Oban Seil Farm was an enjoyable one despite some quite mixed weather which we didn't allow to deter us. Nick and Bette had left us a large tin of shortbread and a bottle of wine which were really appreciated. Views from a nearby hill are stunning. The property (number 3) is roomy and furnished to a high standard. Heating is from storage heaters. We found no need to use the heaters upstairs and mostly only needed heating in the evenings. As expected wifi inside house was very limited. We were reliably able to access the internet outside. There is a good shower over a bath with storage for bathroom essentials. Dark sky lovers will really appreciate the location. Had the weather been better we would have explored more in the evenings as views in the immediate area are stupendous and wildlife abounds

We had a lovely week in Oban Seil Farm on the isle of Seil. In an idyllic location we very much enjoyed staying in a semi detached house with a beautiful view over the surroundings and the sea. Lots of space and all the facilities you could possibly want. Cosy rooms, super clean and well kept. Bette and Nick are really welcoming and friendly hosts. Their dog Ronja is an interesting and lovely character. Easdale on the coast, Dunstaffnage Castle, Dunollie Castle, Seil golfcourse, the pub down the road Tigh an Truish (good meals) are just a few examples in the neighborhood which are worth a visit.

United KingdomPerfect weather. Not sure of the drying facilities if it had been wet. Only issue was the lack of 4g (EE is apparently the best in this area) and the temperamental wi-fi. Not game changers though. Loved it!

United KingdomWe have no complaints- we loved everything about it. I can’t add more pics of the property but it was beautiful!
Absolutely loved the property. Had everything we needed as a family of 5. Plenty of space and all the necessary items in the kitchen and fresh bed linen and towels. Location was perfect. We wanted to be cut off from our reality of work life and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Scotland. The Isle is perfect for this. If you need phone signal or wifi then it’s perfect to cut off and enjoy the natural surroundings. The children loved seeing the bouncing lambs (we were greeted by the beautiful resident Border Terrier - we really wished we had brought our border too! We will next time!) Comfortable beds and plenty of space for all. We even had delivered by Bette a BEAUTIFUL homemade cake - and when I tell you it was the most moist tasty cake I’ve eaten… oh my… I need to recipe Bette! The hosts were fab, had a brief chat to Nick too, as we were running late to our dinner reservation but all I can say is you both were great hosts and we can not wait to return! Views for miles across the Loch and the Isle has two beautiful locations to eat from what we discovered. Tigh An Truish is where we went for our wedding anniversary meal and it was probably one of the best steaks we’ve ever had in our life, and also The Oyster Bar just a short drive away had THE best fish and chips I’ve ever had, my children also highly rate the Mac & Cheese! We tried the array of seafood and it was gorgeous.

United KingdomCan't think of anything.
Our hosts Nick and Bette and their daughter, who also helped, are the most friendly and caring hosts you could wish for. The location is stunning and Nick suggested various venues close by for us to visit. A small vase of freshly cut garden flowers from their greenhouse was delivered to each cottage and on a different day we were treated to a bowl of fresh eggs from their chickens. How thoughtful. We loved the peaceful and relaxing feel of the farm and also the island, finding everybody with whom we came into contact very friendly. A beautiful and interesting place. Thank you Nick and Bette.

GermanyHonestly, having to leave was the only bad thing I can think of.
A wonderful place in one of the most beautiful areas I had the pleasure of visiting and which will forever be my first association thinking of Scotland. The accomodations are greatly comfortable, you couldn't wish for more in the rooms: Full kitchen, full bathroom, very nice bedrooms and beds, lovely living room and a great terrace where we actually had the weather to take all our meals there. And the hosts are beyond hospitable. We felt instantly welcome and at home and our kids where in for the greatest time.

AustraliaCan't think of a single thing!
The accommodation was exceptional. It was bigger than I expected, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Three of us sat down one evening and tried to think of something that wasn't provided - we couldn't! A great deal of thought has gone into the accommodation by the hosts Bette and Rick and it shows. The location is unusual but charming, being on a working farm, but was very quiet and peaceful, with awesome views.
