Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe shower was over the bath and difficult to get the temperature right. We were only staying one night so not too much of a problem.
We were made so welcome in this beautiful house. We had a walk round the grounds and sat in the sun. It was very quiet and relaxing. Had a comfortable nights rest and good breakfast.

United KingdomBeautiful grand house and gardens in lush countryside. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. ( We were attending a wedding in the area, and Richard, our host, very kindly gave us a lift to the venue) Comfortable bed in a lovely room. Breakfast was delicious, and it was served in a grand room. It felt like I was in Bridgerton! Would like to return to explore the gardens. Thanks Richard and Caroline for a lovely stay.

Hosts were friendly and helpful. Bedroom was large and beautiful. Beds were really comfy. Peaceful surroundings and we took a walk around the ‘estate’. Lovely orchard, stream walk and shepherds hut.

United KingdomNot much to say here.
The property just oozes the comfort of a large, family country house. A large hallway with the staircase ascending up to the bedrooms. A large dining room to the right and a comfortable, cosy drawing room to the right. Books to read in abundance and gardening an obvious passion. Breakfast was amazing, cooked by host Richard and obviously coached by his wife Caroline . A warm hearted couple with lots of personality . Although off the beaten track a bit we would definitely recommend Nutgrove House for a relaxing country house holiday or short break experience.

IrelandWe both found the beds a little hard.
Nutgrove House was a fantastic place to stay. The hosts, Caroline and Richard, were extremely friendly and helpful. The house itself is gorgeous with beautiful gardens to wander around. The breakfast offered was exceptional and really kept us going for a good part of the day. We really appreciated the little touches provided such as the facecloths in the bathroom and the homemade biscuits and tea pot in our room.

United KingdomEverything with our stay was great, just a little sign outside the entrance to let us know this was the right house would have been super helpful as it’s not immediately obvious as you come up the lane.
The house is just beautiful! The breakfast was excellent and our room was comfortable and warm with lots of extra special touches. We especially appreciated the high thread count bedding, wide selection of teas and the homemade treats. Caroline and Richard were such kind and thoughtful hosts, stepping in to help when we needed it. We booked as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Ballydugan Mill but would love to return to explore the grounds and surrounding area. We’d highly recommend a stay at Nutgrove House.

United KingdomThe double bed though comfortable took a little to get used to, we being used to a larger bed. The only other drawback was the shower which for some reason at times could be erratic in maintaining temperature though we were still able to use it okay.
The tea and cake on arrival was great. We enjoyed the fruit, cereal and yoghurt provided along with the cooked breakfasts. Caroline and Richard are excellent hosts and if you wish to just chill out, weather permitting, they have lovely garden(s) to sit in.

United KingdomI think the shepherds hut is slightly overpriced. I would have expected to pay a bit less for the hut than the rooms in the house.

United KingdomWe stayed here as the last stop on the St Patrick's Way walk. We had hoped to get a taxi to Nutgrove House from Downpatrick but very few appear to be operating any longer there. In the end our host came and rescued us. We were then given a very welcome pot of tea and delicious Victoria sponge in the drawing room. They were very kind and ferried us to Dundrum where we were able to get an excellent meal at the Mourne Seafood Bar. The room was just right and we appreciated the peaceful setting, we were able to explore their wonderful garden before the Local taxi came to take us to the bus station in Downpatrick. It was an truly delightful place to stay and a perfect end to our walking holiday.
