How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was a bit dusty in places and other areas eg bar area could do with a refresh but did not take away for an excellent stay .
Helpful staff ! Great barman who went out of his way to make me a different cocktail I requested . Value for money and excellent room. We had an evening meal as well as breakfast and it was very good . Would definitely stay again.

The staff were not the most attentive. We would see other people being told much more information without asking for example at check in. There was 2 staff members. One helped another guest and then dismissed us waiting in the queue
Clean. Big spacious rooms. Leisure facilities close 11pm!!

It is very difficult to fault this hotel, so I won't try.
The hotel is very spacious. Rooms, bathrooms, Reception, Restaurant & Bar and the Leisure Club are all of an above average size. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast excellent. The car park looked like a safe place to park overnight. Everything exceeded my expectations.

Didn’t like children in the pool late, should be a cut off time like 7pm, couldn’t swim properly due to children and parents messing about.
Close to Metrocentre, pool an added bonus.

Very limited options for people who have egg allergy. Also, it was not specified that we have a £25 allowance per person when the booking was made. We knew it was a half board option.

Unfortunately the Iron in room. 123 Spat rusty water out onto my wife's cream ted Baker top However the staff were really apologetic and have issued a voucher to more than cover the cost.

The pitiful shower in the room.
Great hotel. Staff friendly, professional and accommodating. Only draw back was the pitiful shower. However, I would recommend the hotel and certainly stay there again.

Would not recommend the restaurant, food was not very good and a bit over priced, but there are many options not far from the hotel.
The hotel is very conveniently located, it has on site parking which is free. It has a very nice leisure centre with a heated pool which was great to relax in after a long day or in the mornings. The room was very spacious as well as the bathroom was a very good size. Everything you need for tea and coffee in the room as well as a mini fridge which was very useful. Cleaning staff cleaned the room fantastically.

The hotel is clean with facilities still intact, and located four minutes away from the metro centre where you would find lots of shops and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety for an English breakfast.

The pillows on the bed were too squashy for my liking, would have liked a slightly firmer option.
Great sized room, location was perfect for where we needed to be, the pool was brilliant for the kids, a good size and warm with good changing facilities. Plenty of free parking. Excellent price for a Sunday night. We stayed with my sister and nephew and it was great that they managed to give us an interconnecting room so we could have the doors open between them so the boys could play.
