Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThank you Ramona, as we had a wonderful stay. We were visiting for a family wedding and it was great to stay here as we held our wedding reception at Narrow water castle in July 2000 so it was a special treat to stay here as part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations. The weather was great and we had some beautiful walks in the grounds and we hope to come back.

We had a wonderful time at Narrow Water Castle, eerything was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were really comfortable. Our kids loved the property and exploring the grounds. It was a great location to explore Newry and Carlingford with only an hour or so drive to both Dublin and Belfast. Ramona was super helpful and getting into the property and checking out was really easy. We can't wait to come back!

IrelandMy family and I stayed at this apartment over the bank holiday weekend, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The space was much bigger than I had thought, beautifully presented, and had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the apartment was very easy to find. Although we didn’t meet the host in person, everything was very straightforward. She sent a clear, detailed message with all the instructions we needed. We even arrived a bit earlier than planned, and everything was already set up and ready for us. You do need a car to get around, but all the places we wanted to visit were only a short drive away. The peaceful location made for a perfect quiet retreat after our days out. I’d definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

United KingdomThe location is stunning adjacent to Narrow Water Castle! The grounds are yours to explore as a guest and feel completely private! The accommodation is expertly decorated and even bigger than it appears in photos. Don’t hesitate this will be one of the coolest stays you’ve ever experienced! We booked two apartments for my wedding weekend and were accommodated with early check in and seamless communication from Ramona. Would recommend Narrow Water to everyone I know!

United KingdomPerhaps some of the furniture could be newer, and the exterior of the property could be improved, but maybe owners want this style.
Beautiful location, plenty of space in property for family and guests, fireplace with supply of logs to burn, plus good central heating, beautiful gardens and grounds, BBQ area and walks in vicinity. Bathroom and kitchen look more recent that other parts of property. Close to Warrenpoint for shopping. Overall good value.

Very clean and roomy accommodation for a family of 4. Hosts are very kind, and helpful and quickly reply to any enquiry. Beautiful and quiet location with easy access to a large forest and a few minutes drive to the Mourne Mountains or towns with shops and restaurants. Accommodation is well equipped with anything what needed for self-catering. Definitely, we love to use it again.

United KingdomVery noisy construction work from 09:00 -17:00 hrs during the day as property above appartment stay was having refurbishment and not aware of on arrival. Expected for a quiet. This was very disappointing. The Network connection was poor to medium kept buffering not able to watch Netflix due to recurrent interruptions. One of the guests likes Television- not working free box but told when asked by owner to be repaired day we were leaving. The electrical appliances such as the Dishwasher easy to use but not energy efficient and very poor carbon footprint. The washer/dryer was extremally poor quality and took hours to wash the clothes and certainly very poor carbon footprint and not good for the environment, with load 6kg small load would have preferred 8kg or more, we needed to wash more loads not economic. Also, the dryer was part was difficult to work out how to use needed to download instructions to use.
Location excellent, as close to Newry and ideal to visit Belfast and Dublin light and airy bathroom. Ground to walk in friendly neighbours. The host was responsive to questions such as key location, reset Wi-Fi modem location. Authentic antique furniture with modern touches of ensuite showroom in one bedroom. Additional bedroom. Adequate appartment for four adults.
