Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot so much "what I didn't like" as this section asks me to report, but things to be aware of. The sink in the bathroom is very small, and overhung by a shelf. If you are a wet shaver like me, a face flannel is useful due to the ergonomics. The shelf itself slopes forward a bit, and I found a full cup of tea or water on top of it tended to slide forward - there is a very handy shelf just above to toilet you can use instead. If you are a dry shaver or have an electric toothbrush to charge, I didn't spot a shaving socket, so an adaptor plug would be handy (I didn't burrow in every cupboard so there may be one hidden away) As expected with a Shepard's hut, there is not a lot of spare space and no cupboards for clothes, so perhaps not the place for posh frocks and DJs, as its easiest to keep stuff in your case. That said, there is a gap at the bottom of the bed that was the perfect width for my reasonably large suitcase, so I wasn't tripping over it. It was on the pricey side for what it was, but I was staying over the period of the National Eisteddfod, when all local accommodation seems to have gone up in price, so although I can't say the price I paid was good value for money, it was the cheapest I could find. I'd look at what others say for value for money, as I suspect my experience was out of the ordinary.
A very comfortable and well appointed Shepherd's Hut situated in the corner of a field a few yards for a sizable gravel parking area in front of the main house. The hut is shielded by a hedge and faces away from the house overlooking fields. There is a fenced off area in front of the hut with table and chairs, ideal for sitting out on a nice day. It feels nice and secluded. The hut itself is fairly small, as you would expect, but with double bed, plenty of electrical sockets (including integrated USB ports so no need to bring a charger), 2 comfy chairs, a kitchen area with kettle, microwave, plenty of cutlery, a decent sharp knife, and I think I spied a George Foreman grill in a cupboard. The shower is a good size, with decent water pressure (albeit not a power shower) and plenty of hot water, although I don't have long showers. Washing up liquid, soap, shower gel and shampoo were provided, along with a decent stock of tea bags and coffee, although not enough tea to feed my habit so you may be advised to bring extra if you like 3 cups a day. Milk was provided (local dairy in a glass bottle). Having been contacted by the owner before arrival, it was a particularly nice touch to have skimmed milk. The hut was open and unlocked when I arrived with the key having inside, but the very friendly host did come out to great me. I spotted a keysafe just outside the hut.

United KingdomOnly complaint was roads around cottage were full of potholes!! Hardly the hosts fault!
Kate was a lovely host, there to greet us when we arrived, not to forget Digger & Figgy. Made us feel very welcome. We were very surprised at the size of the accommodation, 2 large rooms and also given a sitting room, and a conservatory/diner, basically half of the cottage! Very, very rural quiet location. I would highly recommend this B & B to any friends or family or indeed would happily use again. Many, many thanks Kate, for contributing to make our weekend an unforgettable one!

United KingdomHonestly nothing - we loved our stay.
It was a beautiful property and so homely! The rooms were a lovely size, clean, comfy and was in the perfect location from the wedding we were attending and only a short drive away from a little village with some lovely pubs. We loved the garden and all the sheep out in the field, was such a treat. The host was amazing and she ensured that our stay was perfect. I couldn’t recommend enough!!!

United KingdomWe didn't always have cups or milk provided in the room, which could also have done with a couple of comfortable chairs.
The location was rather remote, but very beautiful, setting in a lovely garden. The host was very kind and friendly, and managed to put together a lovely evening meal for us at short notice. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomThat we were only able to spend a couple of nights!
Idyllically situated in the Cheshire countryside. The property was immaculate with beautifully presented rooms and an attentive host who could not do enough to make our stay memorable and a place we would want to return to. For those who want a peaceful few days away to wind down in quiet surroundings with everything in place that you would want. This is the place.

United KingdomVery hot in this recent weather, did not cool inside until late in the night, even with everything open. Could do with a external shaded area to sit under as sun field all day.
Beautiful hut, stunning quiet location, everything we needed for a relaxing break. Lovely host, on hand if we needed anything but allowed us to have our privacy. Safe secure garden for our dogs to run in.Loved the resident sheep and dog .

United KingdomNothing, it was great!
Lovely rural location. The shepherd's hut was adorable, set in a field, but with its own dedicated garden area with a table and bench. The shepherd's hut is private and absolutely lovely, just perfect for a couple! Clean and well equipped too. There is a great shower, and bathroom facilities, fridge, microwave, kettle and cutlery and crockery, and drink making items. A TV and little table and X2 chairs, but we ate outside as we had glorious weather. The bed is sumptuous, lovely and comfortable. We took our two dogs with us, and it was the perfect size for us all to stay in. The owner was lovely and we met Digger the family dog who is just adorable! The field does have some elderly sheep in, but our two puppers quickly adapted to them wandering around so it worked out perfectly! Wonderful stay and we will be back again! Good location too, we went to Chirk castle, into Whitchurch for fabulous fish and chips at Gardiners chippy and into Wrexham for a lovely meal at the fat boar!
