Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDriveway entrance was a bit tight for the large hire car I was in. (But fine for a smaller car or a more experienced driver)

United KingdomI'm Vegetarian and my hostess Madeleine asked what I would like for breakfast it was served fresh and on time everyday and was delicious. The location was perfect, peaceful and lots of lovely walks, just what I needed. Madeleine made me very welcome and helped me navigate the area to it's best potential. Looking forward to another visit.

United KingdomThere was nothing in any details to say that the bed-sitting room was on the first floor of Foxgloves with the toilet on the ground floor. We are old and negotiating the tricky staircase to use the toilet in the night was not a good experience and left us wide awake. If we had known this, we would have chosen to stay in the other accommodation. Likewise the very sloping ceilings.
Warm welcome. Breakfast superb. Sitting in the conservatory overlooking a delightful little garden and watching/listening to birds. This was a special treat for flat-dwellers. Having facilities to make (heat up!) meals. Decor of room. Proximity to Westleton Common.

United KingdomWiFi password was not shown on any notice in room or dining room I could find so had to ask next morning but could not use in arrival evening. Car access was very difficult with narrow gates and overgrown bushes scraping side of car.
Lovely room with a bookshelf full of books.

United KingdomLovely welcoming atmosphere in wonderful surroundings. Super gardens and village location with options for visiting beaches, seaside towns, places of interest and evening dining. Comfortable, clean and everything done in a lovely, helpful way. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of variety and made to suit everyone’s tastes. We really enjoyed our five night stay and would thoroughly recommend Mulley’s Cottage. We would definitely stay there again when visiting the area.

United KingdomA bit cramped for a winter break but ideal for summer when patio doors, that open onto a little patio with table and chairs, can be used.
Great location, very peaceful. Ideal for RSPB Minsmere. Our host was lovely and cooked an excellent breakfast. Beautiful cottage. Madeleine showed us one of her larger rooms which we will book next time as our room was very small. We went on a very wet, chilly weekend (it was December)! So we were very pleased that the room was warm and cosy to come back to at the end of the day.

United KingdomOur attractive chalet, (more like a little barn) was a tad on the small side, as was the bathroom, (no shelves or flat surfaces to put anything) but all perfectly ok for a short stay. Opening and closing the entrance gate to park the car might be a bit of a nuisance in the wet, but in the fine weather we had, you do get to see the lovely wild flower garden and hear the birds.
We loved the look of the house, garden and accommodation from the photos on the website, and the location was ideal for our needs. Just the sort of place where we really enjoy staying. The on-site parking was an added bonus even if it was a bit of a squeeze. Take a smallish car if you stay! Ours is a 21 year old Micra! There were lots of very thoughtful items available in the room. Besides the usual free tea and coffee, small toiletries (like a toothbrush), biscuits, confectionery bars and other useful sundries could be purchased via the honesty box in the room. So lovely to be trusted.

United Kingdom-
It was an excellent find! As well as being surrounded by places to visit during the day and 2 places in walking distance for evening meals, Madeline’s cottage was a lovely place to stay. Breakfast in the traditional kitchen was a very good experience. On the way home we stopped off at Madeleine’s recommended farm shop (Emmerdale) - another good find.
