Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomExceptional Elizabethan building, superbly renovated. Great chefs, lovely staff. Really glad that we booked here. It's 200m from Corfe Castle and loads to do in the area.

United StatesWe stayed in room 4 which is an attic suite. The stairs to it are steep with a sharp angle turn at the top to enter our room- we chose not to struggle with a full sized suitcase upstairs.
Mortons Manor is a charming retreat with excellent food and service.

United KingdomLoved it. We had a fantastic stay and I would absolutely go back. Beautiful spot, lovely vibe, comfortable rooms, excellent food and right near the village centre and the castle. We had a fabulous time- both staying there, exploring the area and also just relaxing on the terrace. We had the terrace suite which was perfect for us (couple and small child). Although individual rooms aren't massive they were actually slightly bigger than I had thought from the photos- room for luggage and a vanity (which I had worried they looked no room for the luggage). Will add a photo of the main room to try and show what I mean!

United KingdomThe only food option in the evening was fine dining and the casual options in the village were not great. It would have been good to have a more casual meal offer in the hotel bar.
Beautiful old manor house refurbished to a very high standard and well maintained. Room was very comfortable, good parking and excellent food. Well positioned very near the village centre.

United KingdomFrom the moment we arrived, the staff at Mortons Manor were so warm and welcoming. Helping us with getting settled in quickly. The room was very clean and the bed very comfy. The breakfasts were excellent, and we had an evening meal there which was exceptional. I particularly enjoyed my afternoon pots of tea in the snug, reading my book. Excellent location for exploring Corfe Castle and the surrounds.

United KingdomA better light over the wash hand basin, perhaps. Breakfast a little slow the second day.
Very nice room. Our impression was that the whole place had been recently refurbished, in a tasteful way, retaining historic charm but to modern standards. Good linen. Excellent breakfast and friendly efficient knowledgeable staff.

United KingdomLeaving!!
We have stayed at Morton's Manor many times, having been married here 18yrs ago. The hotel is a lovely Elizabethan building. All the staff, from us arriving to leaving were excellent. We had an evening meal which is exceptional, quality of food and service by the staff. I had booked a castle view room however we were given an upgrade to the manor suite. This was the room we had when we were married there. Also in the room was a complementary bottle of bubbly. Thank you so much. This really made our stay there even more special!! I can't fault the hotel/staff. Always a pleasure to visit, weather just for a drink a meal or to stay.

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable, as a result my partner had a painful back for several days which left her in discomfort for the rest of our holiday. The mattress in room 6 needs replacing.

AustraliaFaultless right down to the service at breakfast when hollandaise sauce was requested and the lovely lass responded with ´l’ll have an ask.’
The history of Morton’s Manor was astonishing. A variety of fascinating people came to stay in the day from Queen Elizabeth 1 to Ian Fleming when the property was owned by the Bond family. The shared spaces as reception rooms on the ground floor were beautiful and well cared for. The cannon ball exhibit from Oliver Cromwell’s siege of nearby Corfe Castle added to the flavour of the hotel, among many curated items. There are 10 rooms and we chose a smaller room in the main house which had a lovely alcove seat looking onto the patio area, the garden and hills with the all-important large bathroom. Big towels were an unexpected pleasure. The bed was very comfortable and the fittings were superb to befit a 16th century building complete with velvet lined curtains. Onsite parking is always a treat and the breakfast was lovely particularly in the dining room, a tasteful addition in keeping with the rest of the hotel of light grey Purbeck stone.

United KingdomThe first night we arrived late after reception had closed. We were left with instructions as to how to access our room. However, our room was a disabled facility in the grounds of the hotel. There was only one small window and it was generally depressing. The next morning I asked the receptionist if we could change rooms. She was very helpful and found us a room in the main hotel. The second room was fairly small but otherwise fine with a proper window that overlooked a garden. After that all went well.

United KingdomBar was small but good choice, was unmanned, so you had to wait on staff that were already serving, etc. Which seemed a bit of a faff, especially if you just wanted drinks. The evening meal was good, but the menu did not change, and the selection we felt was limited, and I do hate having to pay for sides! On top of the price of your choice .
Was unexpected surprise , lovely building in a great spot. Rooms very clean , and everything you need provided. Breakfast was a good selection of buffet and cooked.. Staff very attentive to your requirements
