Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo communication as to where to go to get keys or breakfast. Had to walk to a local hotel to pick them up after being told by another visitor. Also had to go to the other hotel for breakfast. Only one bathroom for 9 bedrooms 2 toilets in total. One was out of order .
Bed was comfy and it was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomFirst off - we expected very basic, due to the price. These are just things that should be made clearer. Parking is fine - but not as advertised. Public parking for 2 hours am/and then overnight but not for the day time. There's a car park a couple of minutes walk round the corner, £6 a day, which is fine so not sure why they don't just say that instead of 'public parking available on site'. It's just warden controlled street parking or public carpark nearby. The wifi didn't work - plenty of signal but said the password was incorrect. This had been the case in a few previous reviews and when we queried it on the second day, staff said they were aware and that it might get sorted at some point. However, they hadn't told us this on arrival. Bedrooms are basic, which is to be expected for the price, but not ideally set up - the kettles in both rooms were on the floor, presumably as they didn't reach any other surface once plugged in. Curtain fell off the rail when opened because there was no stopper. Returned from a day out to find my bedroom door hadn't even been closed properly, let alone locked, with bed made and cleaning spray in there - again not the end of the world but as the main front door to the property is always unlocked, not ideal from a basic security point of view. There was no handle on the door, and it was quite stiff, so anyone with mobility issues in their hands might struggle to open it from the inside.
The location is fantastic - so close to the beach, town, train station and funicular rail. Breakfast (offered just down the road at Four Seasons hotel) is also really good.

United Kingdomno towels, or toiletries. Bathroom in a mess, rubbish scattered all over. Noisy place, people above banging about for hours. Didn't receive any info about how to check in. By chance a fellow guest informed me I had to get my key from another place down the road. Witnessed a row between staff and guests, unpleasant.
location was excellent, close to beaches, centre of town.

ItalyThe Morawel building is a few metres from the main hotel where you check in, but I did not know this and no one had told me. I had booked a room with a shared bathroom. Several things did not work, just small things that make a difference 1- in the two wardrobes there was not even a hanger so it was impossible to hang clothes 2- the only light night in the room did not work 3- there wasn't even a hook in the room for hanging towels or jackets 4- there was no mirror on the walls. there was only one inside a wardrobe but it was uncomfortable 5- there was no hair dryer 6- smoke smell in the bathroom and rooms 7- THERE WAS NO INTERNET
Great location and very nice and clean room fantastic breakfast in the beautiful main hotel very friendly staff. when I complained that the internet was missing in our building, they offered to move me to another building. i preferred to stay there and use the internet in the lobby of the main hotel

United KingdomWhen I got there I found the b&b but couldn't get in then someone came to show someone there room when I asked I was told I had to go and check in at the four seasons hotel up the road I am disabled so struggled to get there as my crutches were strapped onto my scooter when I checked in I was told that I wasn't in the hotel I booked they had put me in a different one round the back and I was on the top floor there were tea making facilities ie kettle tea bags and milk and sugar but no sink or spoon I had to struggle down two flights of stairs just to fill the kettle up from the shower room which was dirty as was the toilets and to be brutally honest the rest of the building was filthy also.my room didn't have any way of hanging any clothes up not even my coat there were plug sockets hanging off the wall and the windows, net curtains and curtains were filthy as was the carpet the bed was just about passable and it took me a long time and effort to get my bag, crash helmet and riding gear up to the room I decided to stay I knew it was a shared toilet and bathroom but I had to struggle down two flights of stairs to use the toilet have a wash clean my teeth and have a shower which I was not told about and I was not told I had to check in at a different hotel when I went to complain the staff were friendly enough and said they would pass the complaint onto the owners.i also asked them about the breakfast I had paid for as there was no eating area in the dump they had put me in I was told I had to come to that hotel for the breakfast.

United KingdomI do not recommend anyone booking Morawel, Aberystwyth as you might end up sleeping on the Beach.
Did not get the chance as they foibles booked us and apparently lost our booking, not even an apology after we travelled nearly 170 miles. I'm absolutely disgusted with their attitude, especially as said we travelled a long, lucky we managed to get somewhere else, but we could have been stranded. They also double booked the people trying to check in before us! I'm dubious about trusting booking.com again.
