Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing...it was all perfect. Also visited Bowness...too overcrowded !
Lodge is a perfect secluded location on the park. Lodge is amazing and hot tub perfect. Location is great for all local walks/waterfalls etc that we wanted to go to.

Only issue was the boiler, but any questions the host answered promptly and everything was sorted on the first night, thank you!
The property was gorgeous, couldn’t ask for anything more in such a stunning location! The hot tub was a lovely add on which made the trip all the more special.

We had great weather during our stay and had the bedroom window open at night. The noise from the hot tub positioned outside the bedroom took some getting used to.
This is a lovely lodge and a lot of thought has been put into providing everything guests might need.

Nothing - we experienced an issue with the electrics during our stay which was quickly resolved and we were compensated for our inconvenience.

It was so cosy, comfortable and spacious. Well equipped, they have thought of everything. The hot tub was lovely and very private.

extra towels and more bed sheets would have been more useful but everything else was great!
I loved the hot tub and how the lodge is away from others but still in the resort so you can get food, theirs a pool, and the hikes and  views are amazing! I really enjoyed my stay

Because of numbers a second toilet would have been handy but appreciate that would have been difficult with the lodge set up

It would have been more excellent if there was a covering, like a collapsible roof over the area where we have the hot tub.
I like the preparation in place for our arrival, the host left us a bottle of wine and welcome card, which makes us feel important, the hot tub was on and warm for our arrival; it was private and next to the master room.

Pet friendly but pets only allowed in the front room and so may need to take a cage if dog anxious if separated at night in unfamiliar place. No batteries in the remote controls!

What an amazing cosy lodge privately tucked away in a large lodge site. Kate the owner text on the day of arrival asking if we got there ok and if we needed any assistance whatsoever to just let her know. The Xmas decorations were up which my wife loved and also a complimentary bottle of prosecco when we arrived. The lodge itself is stunning and very homely and has everything you need to have a nice relaxing break. About 10 mins in a taxi to windermere too so close enough to enjoy the pubs and restaurants. We will definitely keep this lodge in mind if we ever stay in windermere again and we would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to stay there.

We personally would have appreciated Wi-Fi, though I understand better Wi-Fi is being installed some time next year but we missed it during our stay. Next time we would bring extra pillows. Although I appreciate the owners wanting to maintain their beautiful property, having already read the rules in the welcome pack, having them repeated on signs all over the property was a little stifling.
The hot tub was amazing and really liked that someone came and maintained it daily. The placement of the lodge on the park was perfect, very secluded and private. The decor was lovely and calming and it was very clean. The welcome pack was really informative and the extra sundries provided were handy.

It was in a lovely location so easy to get to Ambleside and Bowness which had lovely walks for our Labrador . Very comfy beds. The lodge had everything we needed. So clean and Cosey beautiful interior. Hotub lovely.

Small beds, twin beds too small for adults. Tiny shower. Tv small and set too high up in the lounge. Too many other properties close together and not enough areas for dogs to run. Swimming pool very full and often booked up

Nothing at all, could not fault anything,
Absolutely gorgeous, stylish and comfortable Lodge. Everything we needed and more to make our stay lovely. All the little extras in the deco and facilities made our stay so welcoming. All of the bedrooms are so spacious with excellent storage, with TV’s in the bedrooms for our children too. The location was perfect, set a little higher than most lodges, surrounded by trees for added privacy, was like our very own tree house. The hot tub was fab! And everything was spotless and clean. We will definitely be returning x
