A great base from which to explore the surrounding lakes. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delightful. My room was spacious with lots of storage if required - the bed comfy - important for a decent night’s sleep after a day hiking.

Lovely dog friendly hotel, staff were brilliant, breakfast was great. Good size room, comfy bed, clean bright bathroom. We ate here 4 times and the food was delicious, outside patio is nice to have a drink after dinner Plenty of walks, flat or hilly.

The hotel was very welcoming and was amazing with my dog. The rooms and hotel are decorated so nice. Very clean and great location. The food was excellent and highly recommend the restaurant in the evenings.

Only thing I would have liked was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom for doing my make-up. Needs a full length mirror and the lovely circular mirror in the bedroom is 18 inches too high on the wall as I'm only 5 feet tall I could not see all of my face in it. Small things really but easily fixed.

Lovely well decorated hotel. Dog friendly and lovely views (ignoring the road) of mountains from outdoor area and bar. Room 22 was very spacious with great bathroom. We liked the full size bath to have a soak after a long walk. Comfortable large bed.

Literally would have just liked to stay longer. Also, it's not cheap, but you do get your momey's worth. Otherwise, totally positive. Improvements could be if breakfast was offered slightly longer and early and room service was an option.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and the room was beautifully decorated and really clean. Lots of space and a beautiful view, the complimentary toiletries were lovely too, and eco friendly!

The room and bed were on the small size as was the shower.

A fantastic accommodation with a fantastic restaurant. The food was out of this world and we highly recommended a visit. The staff were friendly, helpful and made our stay memorable. We will return and have already recommended the Ruddings to friends and family.

Great location for the lakes. Food was outstanding, good drinks selection. Very clean property and decorated to very high standard - felt like a boutique hotel. Dog friendly.

Rooms were very compact so we could hear every noise and bangs coming from the bedrooms next door and through the corridor. Didn't ruin the stay though. Room overlooked the back car park on ground level so not much privacy. Sausages and bacon at breakfast was a little undercooked but generally the food was great.

Such a cost setting, only 5 minute drive from Keswick and derwent water. Food was excellent in the restaurant/bar and so dog friendly. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was hot and good pressure. Hotel throughout was beautifully clean.

We had vegan options but I do think breakfast could have been clearer for vegans. The staff weren’t sure about some of the items on the menu. Really appreciated them having helped and asked the chefs but was told the chefs weren’t sure either. Happy with fruit and veggie sausages but would be amazing if they offered dairy free butter, pastries or yoghurt.

Dog friendly. Dogs can go with to the restaurant and for breakfast. Can go for a wander on the grass walkway at the back of the property to take their toilet time (red bins on site) for their waste. Super clean rooms and bathrooms! No doggy smells. Staff are excellent and a credit to the place, especially the breakfast team!

The Ruddings was a lovely stay. It’s clearly been developed recently but all appeared good quality. The bed was lovely and comfortable, room had everything expected.
