Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe didn't get the room we booked which was very disappointing. Although we were put in a two bedroom self catering stables unit, I didn't see this as an upgrade. The double ground floor room had no bed side table or bed side lamp and no wall mirror. Not even a mirror inside the wardrobe. Nothing to leave your phone, book, glasses or a bottle of water. The bathroom didn't have a towel rail near the sink, and a large lump of plaster out of the wall behind the door. The handle obviously keeps knocking the wall so a simple rubber stopper and some polyfilla would help. No door handle on the shower door to pull it closed and no rubber or safety surface on the shower floor and slippery when soapy and slipping towards the loose door meant the door opened without supporting any weight and I fell out. No harm done. If guests are given access to the grounds, guests like to walk and have a nosey around. The balustrades and old steps need some TLC and having a sign to explain what those old steps were would have been nice. We walked all round freely where the back of the kitchens are and there was rubbish on the floor and stone slabs or buckets thrown carelessly around. Putting racking behind a fence or cordoning of staff only areas would be appropriate. Even walking over to the sheep field there is litter and cups or glasses left on walls or windowsills. All looks very unpleasant and not 4 star standard. The buffet breakfast was an awful experience and staff shortage or keeping up with demand was evident. Only 1 working coffee machine, no cups when we came, food all over the floor around the serving areas and breakfast cereal scattered all near the containers. No serviettes could be found and the juices were constantly empty. I asked for an alternative to just the scrambled egg and I was told it's not possible.
The serving staff at the bar and in the restaurant appeared under pressure with staffing shortage however they were friendly and smiling and the tab Cs is e service was lovely. The grounds with the lake is a nice walk and also the church. We were lucky enough to hear an organ rehearsal session and it was beautiful.

United KingdomThe one re receptionist certainly needs better on customer communication skills, some of the renovation used cheap items which is a shame. The bottom sheet was put directly on the mattress , no protector , hygienically not good. And duvet could have been a little larger to go over sides of bed
Location size of superior bedroom Sunday night special for superior room £65. I was happy with that but not worth usual prices without being upgraded in fittings

United KingdomThe hotel needs some tlc especially the pool area. Breakfast was tasty but badly organised so lots of queuing and messy tables etc.
Beautiful location and close to Warwick castle. Spa massages were good. Pool and steam room were nice to spend time in.

United KingdomBecause of the remote location we had to eat in the hotel, the restaurant itself is nice and staff friendly. On both days the food was exactly the same, only type of eggs is scrambled, watery and tasteless maybe done in a steamer? No juice available, only cordial. For £16pp it could be a little better. If you are planning to have a dinner in a hotel, make sure to book as they were fully booked, we were lucky to get a table in a bar area. It was only ok, do not order the chicken wings, I don’t know who came up with an idea to batter them but it was so greasy, we couldn’t finish four wings which was the serving. Bar staff clearly struggled, not trained on serving food, dirty table even though I asked them for a quick wipe, cutlery was brought after the dishes. Just needs a little attention and retraining.
The room was actually nice, clean and comfortable bed with big TV. There wasn’t a hair dryer like described. We only needed a place to sleep so it was very good, lift access for the pram. We stayed near reception in Woodlands. Picturesque nature around with sheep roaming. All departments such as restaurant or the spa work independently or have been sold off so you need to pay for using these facilities although the swimming pool was actually very enjoyable and warm. We visited Stratford upon Avon, very charming old town with swans and boat rides

United KingdomThe bed was really uncomfortable it was very hard. Had to move rooms due to noise, it’s not a good idea to allow dogs in all the rooms, why not allow dogs in certain rooms only and have part of the hotel that is dog free. Unfriendly reception staff but probably they were inundated with complaints

United KingdomThe service in the restaurant for drinks and food was diabolical. Guests waited an hour for a drinks order and a couple of hours for food. There was one person serving who was completely swamped on a Saturday night. You really need to sort this out because it is an important part of the stay so much so that it has put us off booking again unfortunately. I would actually like some feedback from you on this point as to how you are addressing this problem because you must have had lots of complaints?

United KingdomOutside appearance, room was extremely stuffy but probably due to the heatwave, only 1 receptionist serving on our arrival so we had a long wait to check in. Young girl waitress redoing her hair in the bar on several occasions. We were told breakfast was served until 11 but then told on the Monday it was 10 during the week! Swimming pool & area needed the luxury feel adding! Cleaner did not close our door properly after replenishing towels etc so it was left unlocked for 7 hours until we returned from our trip out.
Clean rooms, comfy beds, very good breakfast, fantastic location !

United KingdomThe bed headboard was covered in cum, it was also on the side table and couch. The bed (two singles pushed together, so you fall down the middle) had been changed to be fair and the bathroom was clean, but the rest of the room was pretty disgusting, like it hadn’t been cleaned for ages. Lots of settled dust.
