How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Lovely stay, owners very friendly and helpful, room was very clean, slept very well, bed was so comfortable, lovely soft pillows and duvet, shower was nice and warm, enjoyed the cooked breakfast and service both mornings, loved the treat table at top of stairs with honesty box, nice touch. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely guest house in great location for visiting the Scottish Borders. Easy on street parking. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable room. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The hosts were very welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect. If you like walking there are some great routes that start and end in the town. Some great local bars and restaurants. The place is immaculate with a fabulous breakfast and the hosts are wonderful.

Warm and welcoming hosts. The property was spotlessly clean and the whole property had a fresh feel throughout. Lots of little touches and amenities to make for a comfortable stay. Flexible breakfast options. The property is close to the heart of town.

Ideal location within Jedburgh but really peaceful room overlooking the garden. Room and whole house immaculate. Breakfast was great - full cooked breakfast plus fresh fruit/yoghurt etc. Rob and Amanda very helpful.

The location is perfect, an easy walk to all of the sights and close to restaurants. The hosts were wonderfully helpful and fun. And the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed.

Having to leave, wish I'd been able to stay in Jedburgh longer
Amanda and Rob made this stay even better than it was. They were attentive to our needs but never overbearing. They gave ideas of where to go for dinner one night without recommending one place over another. I much prefer that as its then my decision as to where to go and can give them feedback that they can then use

Everything was excellent. The home and grounds are lovely. We had a nice large room with a view of the big garden. We really couldn't speak any higher of Amanda and Rob- a real example of what it is to be a host, so welcoming and attentive. Would definitely stay again!

We both felt welcome from beginning to end, it's like coming to stay with family. Such a beautiful little spot to stay, tastefully and stylishly designed and decorated, incredibly clean and a lovely little addition of a wee bunny to admire in the garden.

Perhaps a matter of personal preference but, like many places, the room was overly warm and the heating on full when I arrived. But then that's nothing that opening a window and turning off the heating can't fix.
Location near the centre of town was great with easy street parking outside. Room was well-furnished and very comfortable.

The property was clean, modern furniture and amazing bedding. It was warm throughout but with our own bedroom heat control. Breakfasts were amazing and the hosts such lovely and welcoming people. Perfect location for walking into Jedburgh.

Very clean, well appointed bedrooms and en-suites . Lovely fresh high quality linen and towels. Excellent breakfast in a very tastefully decorated dining room. Ironing and hair drying facilities provided. Very friendly hosts. Street parking very easy outside building
