No complaints, would happily stay again!

Close walking distance to the ferry, it was clean and well maintained, comfortable bed and pillows! Beautiful large window with lovely views. Had a lovely homely feel. The manageress was really welcoming and very informative about the island, we found out lots of interesting facts.

    Only the weather!

We were moved to alternative accommodation due to a water leak at Martyr's Rooms. It was essentially an upgrade.

The curtains were unlined, so let a lot of light in. And my usual bugbear with hotels, no hooks!

Right on the front, by the ferry terminal, beaches and village centre. The breakfast was good, and had things that I could eat (I have an eating disorder). The shower was fantastic, very powerful. The towels were large and fluffy, and the bed was very comfortable. .

Clean, comfortable beds and friendly welcoming staff whose knowledge about the island and wildlife was great. Lovely place and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. Easy access to beach and 2 mins walk from the ferry. The pub across the road is well stocked with lovely staff and amazing views.

Lovely B&B Right Next to the Ferry

This B&B is right next to the ferry landing and right by a stunning part of the coastline. The staff was super friendly and helpful and I got a great tip for how to spend my afternoon from the woman who checked me in. I went to Port Bahn beach for my walk and it was stunning. I also hiked to St. Columba's bay which was a fabulous spiritual experience. I loved my stay here and wish I had booked more than one night. Iona is so much more special than Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. I loved having the cafe and bar right across the street to grab a bite. Breakfast was also super tasty. Try the cinnamon date scones!

    All was good.

It was just steps away from where the ferry lands. Sandra was an available and informative host. Rooms were like photos and very clean. Breakfast was delicious and Sandra was very accommodating to allow us to keep our luggage there until we caught the ferry later in the day. Iona was so peaceful and I hope to return someday!

    Can’t think of a thing.

Staying at Martyrs Bay Rooms was great! A lovely room with all you need to relax in the peace that is Iona. The proximity to everything worked well, it also offered a wonderful quiet being at the edge of the village and by the water. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Sandra welcomed us every morning with a smile and good ideas about what to do on the island. Martyrs Bay Rooms is just across the street from a restaurant, which was so convenient, especially for lunch (Try the soups!).

It was all good. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a choice of a Scottish cooked breakfast too.

Martyrs Bay Rooms are close to the ferry port and all the amenities - gift shops, Spar grocery store, cafe, bar, restaurants, amazing handmade pizza place, the Abbey, St Columba's church and island walks (oh, and golf if you play is just a short walk away). It's a great location for everything. Room was large, clean, king size bed, great shower, lovely views of sea and countryside. Lots of little milks in the room for coffees and biscuits too. The manageress is lovely, friendly and very helpful. Lovely breakfast of different types of cereals, tinned fruits, Greek style yogurt, toast, and choices of warm home-made scones. Will definitely stay there again if we come back to Iona.

I found out in the morning that the curtains have a separate backing drape to pull for more blackout since it gets dark late and light early.

Sandra is a wonderful host. Friendly and welcoming. She works in the shop as well as the lodging. The location was convenient for access to the ferry and especially with luggage. The shops nearby are good but need to be prepared for early closure. Other places are walking distance. The room was cozy and had good facilities. Some switches are in different places than expected but all workable eg extractor fan. Might be a Scottish thing? Breakfast was filling - a range of cereals, stewed fruits, scones, cream and jam. Usual beverages too.

The manager was over the top helpful, friendly, efficient and totally amazing. From prepaing Breakfast Room setups to answering questions, showing show to operate the heating system, to managing and staffing the wonderful gift shop with lovely Iona plaid in every sort of tiny purse to blankets. Art and photos, ceramics and post cards. It's a jewel, and only a few steps from the ferry landing. They also have a nice restaurant, open thru late afternoon.
