Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI was really looking forward to having a Mai Tai after a long and challenging working day and, having seen the drink on the cocktails menu, I was over the moon with anticipation. You'll therefore understand my disappointment when I was told that they 'didn't have the ingredients to make the drink'. Not the end of the world, but why would you continue to have this on the menu if you don't have the ingredients? When my drink did arrive, the cube ice was sub par and the glass had a chip on the rim. I was too tired at this stage to argue or raise a fuss, so down went my drink without further complication. On rising the next morning and preparing for another day of back to back meetings, I was grateful to see a Nespresso machine on the desk. What was less helpful was the lack of any other flavour than Voluto, the complete lack of any sugar or sweeteners, and the dirty and already used spoon on the saucer didn't help matters.
WiFi was exceptionally fast, and the proximity to Manchester Piccadilly was a huge bonus. Staff were also extremely helpful and accommodating when I needed to extend my checkout to attend an urgent last minute online work meeting. Bed was incredibly comfortable, bathroom with the stall shower was exactly what I needed after a 14h working day. Room was also well laid out, spacious, and excellent value for money. In particular, I appreciated the working desk which was actually useful and not just an ornament as with many hotels.

United KingdomThere was a water leak pouring out from under the "bridge" area of the hotel into the road. It didn't give me much conidence in the maintenance!
The room size, bed comfort, bathroom size & facilities, and customer service were superb.

United KingdomMaybe a little bit of spruce enough here than that. More lights in the room. More channels on the TV. Bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover

United KingdomLovely hotel, food, staff and facilities, but there was a lot of dust in the room, obvious dust as well, mainly on all the lamps and shades. Otherwise a nice room and stay, just a shame something so simple let it down.

United KingdomCost to have a dog stay, very expensive per night cost and they are not permitted into bar area. I would not describe the Hotel as really being pet friendly.

United KingdomAn earlier check in time would have been handy - was 3pm check in and train arrived at 11.30 so ended up paying to leave bag at station which added to costs.
Just a short walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station, and easy stroll into main shopping area/Northern Quarter etc. Couldn't fault it for location - was making way to the Etihad, easy to jump on/off tram or just walk it. Funky decor, quiet room, but bar area seemed lively (was travelling alone, and opted to just buy some nosh from Sainsbury's opposite and dine solo in the room but next time would feel comfortable enough to head to the bar or brasserie - although it did look a bit expensive)

United KingdomGreat location. Staff always very helpful. The room was spacious and well equipped and cleaned daily, supplying fluffy white towels which were great. Any bin rubbish was removed and bathroom was clean and tidy... (Thank you to house keeping) . Breakfast staff were delightful and very accommodating. They were very attentive to replenish the food/fruit despite one of the coffee machines being out of order. Which caused a bit of a long wait in a queue.

United KingdomThe pillows were very soft but lumpy, almost felt like my head just fell through bit to the mattress. Also the room was very stuffy, but when I turned the cold air on it went too cold, I couldn't work it out for in between.
Location is great! Close to train station and other amenities. Room was nice, simple and chic. Staff offered to hold our case whilst we waited to check in (we were early) so we could explore Manchester and also when we checked out until we were ready to travel home.

United KingdomNot a big issue but in the room there is a mirror with inbuilt lights which you can adjust the lighting as you please. I liked it and much easier to do make up but the “on” or “standby” button does not switch off. If you are light sensitive or prefer sleeping in total darkness something should be provided to cover that. When I realised that it’s doesn’t switched off. It was already midnight. Really no point telling the staff at that point. Just placed the menu book infront of it. Did the trick. Overall, I thought room was abit dusty on desk and on the shelves but otherwise fine.
Location was great close to the station. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomSome undesirables at the bar on Sunday night who weren’t pleasant to be sat next to. You could cut the tension with a knife. There seemed to be an ongoing argument with the two ladies on duty in the bar.
I’ve stated many times in the past … I loved the excellent check in staff especially the gorgeous girl who upgraded us from a twin to a double. I loved the new decor too.

United KingdomOverall everything was great, the only thing that could do with improving is the gym facilities. The equipment was very old and felt crammed in a used room.
The staff were friendly and helpful, able to check in early which was great. Room was a good size and the bed very comfortable, everything was very clean. Location was perfect for the station and Canal street and still very quiet (I was on L5)

United KingdomThere isn't really a good view here in general due to the location, so paying extra for a corner suite was a bit lacking in views, but it was quieter. The windows aren't able to be opened at all either, which is fine, but I'd like to have known about that.
We enjoyed how close it was to everything as well as the darker and more unique style of the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to store bags before and after checking out, which helped so much. The bed was comfy, and the room was spacious and clean. We went for Pride and felt very welcomed and comfortable. The hot breakfast was also fantastic. We really enjoyed it.
