Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

A fabulous little gem in an amazing valley with 360 views. Jeannot and Fraser were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Facilities are ample. Comfortable bed. Heating by radiators. BBQ facilities and wood are supplied. A beautiful bathroom, fabulous bath for a soak after a day hiking. DVD player. Books. Great if it rains when you’re there. Plenty of walks close by. And by night you are able to sit under the stars and amaze at their beauty.

United KingdomNothing bad to say
Fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful. The cabin was beautiful and perfectly located for a weekend away from the world. I unplugged myself and took in all that nature had to offer. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a few days away from the world. It is also a great location for anyone interested in Astrophotography, as it is in the middle of a dark skies area.

United KingdomNothing. Perfect
Amazing location - heart of the Galloway Forest. The cabin offered a well-equipped wooden home - had everything you need, small cooking area and fully furnished. Loved the bathroom! Roll top bath and spacious luxury. Peaceful setting - and oh my! The night sky views were wonderful! Loved using the fire pit to cook dinner on. Jeannot and Frazer were wonderful hosts who could do no more for us. Utterly wow!

United KingdomNothing, everything was exceptional. Way better than what we expected.
Very cozy, quiet, clean and well kept. A cabin truly in the middle of the Galloway Forest. A high car is recommended, as the access road is quite rough. You will be actually in the nature, not just outside a town in a village. The cabin is also warm and with plenty of elecrticity sockets, so if you get caught by very heavy rain and you get wet, you'll be able to dry yourself up easily. The owners are beautiful people, super helpful, they provide great indications where to go visit or buy groceries. They also live in the same lot, so you'll have privacy because they're quite far and not in sight, but also someone to refer to should you have issues. There's no better host you could hope for.

United KingdomVery helpful host -it was easy to find the property with the instructions. The location was beautiful and the lodge though compact, was extremely well designed. The bathroom felt spacious and comfortable, with some lovely touches of luxury. Even though it rained for some of our short stay, we were happy just spending time in the lodge. The walks we did do, were in beautiful scenery. If you're looking for peace and quiet, in a beautiful location, we would highly recommend it.

United KingdomReally pushed to find a fault, but maybe some covered bike storage for when its really heavy rain. But then again, we should have thought to bring bike covers. That's it.
Cosy and comfy. The cabin is well decorated, furniture and storage are well considered. An ideal getaway with walking and cycling tracks close by. Note: Route 07 of Gravel Rides Scotland book goes right past the front gate (at the blue postbox), so you can join onto this circular route. Really appreciated the bath after that day of cycling! As there's no WIFI, we downloaded some TV shows and podcasts to our tablet in advance and we had books to read. There is a DVD player if you want to bring some DVDs. Loved being on a farm and location was a great balance of feeling that you were getting away, but not too remote and isolated. We did 100% self-catering (used the Sainsburys in Newton Stewart) – there's a fridge, gas hob and toaster so have a think about what how you're going to cook things. We had 3 dinners – steak, tortellini pasta and then after our cycle, breakfast for dinner. Would definitely recommend and book it again, maybe in better weather so we could use outside seating and firepit.

United KingdomMidges was not warned. Directions from the app were wrong. Tough terrain to get to cabin for a city car. Again not explained. It was not as clean as I would have expected. I could write my name in the dust under the bed. The water in the property was brown and murky.
Peace and quiet. Slept well both nights
