An old world charm hotel set in breathtaking nature.

The breakfast procedure needs to be improved. The guest is not clear what to order and the staff was not instructing the guests regarding the options. In addition the timing needs to be improved as well as the offering. The buffet and menu should have a selection of cheeses since it is a traditional produce of the area. In terms of taste everything was very good.

The location and grounds are breathtaking, peaceful, you feel completely in tune with nature and it is a great place to relax. The spa facilities are great, if you are into walks the grounds offer great strolls in nature. The hotel overall has an old world charm to it. The dinner was good at the Walled Garden restaurant.

No air conditioning in our bedrooms. It was a hot spell and our top (second) level bedroom was hardly made better by fans. That was our only complaint. Otherwise, grounds, amenities, food and service were wonderful, 10 stars.

The beauty of the property was exceptional. Gardens and little unexpected paths taking you to yet another section of the property was such a treat. The stables were the cleanest I’ve ever seen and the two 5-year-olds were escorted on their ponies. What a fun experience. All staff members were lovely, attending to us with a smile and efficiency.

The food did not live up to expectations and was a bit underwhelming (especially for the price point). If the quality of cuisine matched the rest of the experience, it would be truly memorable.

The properly is top notch and a very pleasant place to spend time and unwind.

Staff felt relatively under trained and not professional (including two staff having a large argument while we were waiting to be taken to our Michelin dinner table)

Great amenities. Michelin dinner was great.

Loved everything but someone taking drinks orders by the pool or ordering via a QR so you didn’t have to go back into the restaurant each time would be great.

The hotel was spotless and the grounds immaculately kept. The staff really couldn’t do enough for you they were so welcoming and friendly. The spa and pool facilities are the best I’ve been to. Will definitely be returning.

Original room we were assigned (a courtyard view standard room) was not very private, anyone headed to and from the spa could peer into all the ground floor rooms/bedroom windows if lit from within. Bikes were not very well maintained - took us and many other couples quite a bit of time rifling through flat tyres or poorly installed seats. Second dining room for the Michelin restaurant was very poorly lit with no warmth or vibe whatsoever, more of a KGB cold lighting ambience. We mentioned this and kind of got ignored about this (and the wine offering) for a couple of courses, before we insisted we move to the other room. Better service and mood. Food however was excellent. Breakfast appears mixed or slightly underwhelming at first, seeming at first glance a less luxury or quality offering (eg the continental area, brands of condiments, etc) but the cooked part is always EXCEPTIONAL quality, and the English breakfast tea was of a very very fine calibre too.

Outstanding hospitality and really excellent all round offering from this stately hotel. Great food offering.

We stayed in a 3 bed cottage but only the main bedroom had a mirror. My girls had to dry their hair in my room.

A Land of Contrasts Stellar Amenities, Inconsistent Luxury!

**The Shortfalls:** - **Restaurant Service & Quality:** WALLED GARDEN The dining experience dampened the stay. Aside from the exceptional barman, many staff seemed disengaged, even subtly unwelcoming toward my daughter and me. A side dish (miscategorized and overpriced as a main course) arrived cold and overcooked, yet remained on our bill despite being untouched. - **Subpar Bedding:** For a 5-star hotel, the scratchy, stiff linens in our suite were unacceptable. Comfort should never be sacrificed—especially when minor upgrades could resolve this. **Final Verdict:** This property dazzles with its world-class amenities (especially the equestrian offerings) and talented staff in key areas. However, inconsistent service in the restaurant and lapses in room comfort prevent it from delivering a seamless luxury experience. Ideal for travelers prioritizing unique activities like horseback riding, but manage expectations around dining and finer details. With sharper attention to hospitality nuances, this could be a true gem.

Our stay at this property was a blend of memorable highs and puzzling lows. While the setting and certain experiences radiated 5-star brilliance, other elements felt unpolished for a luxury establishment. **The Highlights:** - **Breathtaking Location & Amenities:** The hotel’s grounds and facilities are undeniably stunning. The equestrian experience, in particular, was a standout—the staff were knowledgeable, passionate, and made our time with the horses unforgettable. - **Upgraded Junior Suite:** The room upgrade was a generous touch, offering ample space and pleasant views. - **Attentive Teams:** The reception, spa, and pool staff remained consistently warm and professional, enhancing our relaxation

I fell and really hurt myself on a bridge going to the rooms which was very slippery. I also think that the horses should be rested midweek and not on a Monday and Friday. I found that frustrating. The room service menu can be improved and the in room Minibar facilities are non existent

It's an incredibly beautiful park and setting. Fabulous to ride in

The walled garden restaurant food is great, but feels like you are sat in an airport lounge. Need to make it cosier with dimmer lighting and candles maybe.

Great staff, and facilities. Every staff member made us feel special. Loved the champagne on arrival in the room and night time chocolates. Cocktails in library were great.
