Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBed was not the best!
Old but nicely presented. Modern where required but without losing the charm of the original building.

IsraelIt’s an amazing place, if you can book it you are lucky!
An amazing historical house but with all the modern comforts, settled in a green breathtaking views, a very good location to explore the lake area, it was a unique and unforgettable experience. The house was very clean and had all the equipment you need. It was very spacious for our family of 5. You can easily cook, do your laundry ext. A warm recommendation to the old post office caffe just across the corner.

United KingdomI never could work out the full operation of the TV, but I really didn't miss it anyway.
Beautiful, quiet location. Property has a great mix of period atmosphere and modern facilities. In fine weather it's a real luxury to be able to sit in the small garden and take in the lovely view across the valley while eating breakfast. Nearby shop has essentials and there is a good pub within 10 minute-walking distance for meals, but property's kitchen has everything you might need for self-catering.

United KingdomHaving to leave on a beautiful sunny Autumn morning!
Low House Farm North is a special place full of character and is clearly a much loved family home. We have been coming to the Lake District for nearly 40 years and surprisingly this was our first stay in Troutbeck. It won't be our last! We had three days of fabulous walks direct from the house without having to use our car. The house caters brilliantly for walkers with a fantastic drying area for boots and waterproofs. The kitchen is excellently equipped with ample amounts of crockery (what an amazing kitchen cupboard!), cutlery and pots and pans and even a washing up bowl which is so often lacking in holiday cottages! The house ticked all the boxes we look for in a place to stay in in The Lakes and we would love to return with our friends who sadly couldn't come with us at the last moment.

United KingdomThe garden was very overgrown which made access difficult to sit outside.
Another amazing stay at Low House Farm North. The location is perfect, feels very remote but close to bus stops, pubs and the Troutbeck post office. The tradition features make this stand out from most other holiday lets.

United KingdomEverything was amazing
Highly recommended! Low House Farm was the best holiday home I have ever stayed in! Everything was impeccable from the setting, the history, the facilities the bed, the bedding , showers , heating , fire place , everything was great. We had the best time here and feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay here. Low house farm is now the only place we will want to stay when in the Lake District. Waking up to the views across Troutbeck Valley listening to the birds and watching the sheep on the fells was wonderful! There were lots of walks to take from the doorstep, a great pub 10- 15 minute easy walk away and, tea rooms across the street what more could you ask for!

A brilliant home, in a fantastic location, with plenty of space to stretch out. Very well equipped kitchen which is important for us, an off-road parking spot, everything nicely thought out. The house is full of character, and was just the right place for us.

AustraliaFabulous location, views of countryside from all windows, was beautifully warm once we accosted a lady on the street to educate us about the warming system and the shower; We enjoyed making an open fire and added to the cosiness of the home; Great space and beautifully appointed bedrooms with very comfy beds; Kitchen has all the needs covered and the most incredibly ancient cupboard built into the wall; The history of the home was a wonderous curiosity for the entire stay; The wonderful walks up Robin's Lane and over to Ambleside and also up to the fell were beautiful - such a treat to be able to have such a great walk at your doorstep without having to get into a car to access it; The cosy Tea House across the road was an added treasure that we did not explore until our final morning - and what a delight full of curios and warm welcoming and informative staff. Our neighbours, we met by chance, were also delightful. Our whole experience could not have been more special. Thanks so much.

We loved the history of the house, it was spacious, warm and cosy and had everything we needed. It was plenty big enough for 6 adults for a long weekend. Lots of walks, the cafe and nice pubs on your doorstep. Communication was great as well. If you want to use the fire, make sure you bring logs and kindling with you. We hope to visit again!
