If I was being picky, there were quite a few cobwebs around the house, and the ensuite walk in shower was slightly blocked so there was a build up of water at times. But other than that it was a perfect stay.

Beautiful cottages tucked away in the Lake District, fully equipped with everything you might need. Set on a charming farm where ponies and sheep wander right up to your door, it offers a lovely countryside experience. Although we didn’t meet the hosts, everything was organised seamlessly with an easy check-in process. A fantastic base for exploring the main sights of the Lake District and highly recommended.

The hosts were really lovely and super accommodating of a change in plans that we had to make. The beds are really comfy and the kids loved the whole set up. The view from the lounge is absolutely beautiful! What an amazing place to stay! Thank you!

Upstairs living area got unbearably warm when sunny - skylights don’t open, and small vents were not enough to give proper ventilation. 2 skylights out of 3 had blinds. Also no extractor fan over hob, so any smokiness or smell couldn’t be removed for hours.

Beds very comfortable - firm mattress with softer topper. Extending table good for games. Access to garden. Storage in small bedroom spaces well thought out. Very very quiet.

Apart from the speed of the WiFi, which feels like nitpicking given the location and that we were there to do activities and sightseeing, I can't really find fault.

Lovely location and view from the property, good sized kitchen area, lounge with view and patio balcony, good sized bedrooms, en suite to large master, good facilities and comfortable beds, tea and coffee bags provided on arrival with milk in the fridge, WiFi in the property (though not the fastest or most reliable but it is a rural location) and well situated for accessing both the lakes and Northumberland.for sightseeing and activities. Also pub is walking distance and there are lovely fell and river (Gelt) walks from the property.

Peaceful quiet location with excellent view. The property was well maintained and had everything we needed. Nearness to a nice pub with good food was a bonus.

We really enjoyed our stay at Long Byres. The cottage was lovely and had all the bits and pieces we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location is just incredible. Coming from the South East, we're used to hearing the hum of road noise, but there's none of that here. The only sounds you can hear are the birds, the stream and the horses and sheep. The view is really special too. In the distance you can see the Lake District and surrounding the cottage are rolling hills that house sheep and horses. We would love to stay here again.

Had no control over the heating as it was set on a timer. We went for a walk and got soaked through and came back to a cold house and unable to put heating on to warm up.
