Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaI was not allocated the room at Mercure Paddington that was described in my booking confirmation from booking.com Not only was the room of a lower standard to the photos and description but the bathroom was very dirty with severe mould around the base, especially around and under the shower screen. It was only the efforts of one of the reception staff at Mercure London Paddington Hotel and thankfully at the Indigo hotel in Paddington that I was given an alternate room at the Indigo hotel which was great. Thank you so much to Shah at the Indigo hotel for saving my trip to London from being a disaster. He went out of his way to assist me with a room at the Indigo hotel in Paddington that was clean and more like the one that I had booked. I would like to express my appreciation to him and acknowledge his excellent customer service approach.

United StatesThe organization of the room could be so much better … have a desk that becomes a suitcase holder, put the fridge in the coat rack area. There seems to me a lot of better ways to set up the room for maximum comfort.
We really enjoyed the extra details… robe, slippers, iron and ironing board, water in fridge and in lobby! We want to mention the doorman Claudio… he was so kind and helpful exactly when we needed that!😊Claudio is the reason we would want to stay at this hotel again!

United StatesSometimes you can hear the train noise (since you are so close to the station). I wasn't bothered by this but it may bother some travellers.
This hotel is in a great location-right outside of the metro stop. There are several restaurants and shops nearby as well. The staff were fantastic and for central London, the room was fairly spacious. The lift was a bit small but that's to be expected. There are a couple of stairs to enter the hotel and a couple to access the lift, so this hotel may not be the best choice for people with limited mobility. Otherwise it's a lovely hotel.
