Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot guaranteed parking outside if it's busy - Thankfully we didn't have any real issue with this. To be fair not a lot of hotels/ houses here have parking. There's a few car parks in the village worse case scenario or can park a bit further down the road. I think this would only be a issue in super busy periods like the school holidays.
Excellent location well within walking distance to shops, resturants & walking trails. Property was spotless on arrival and had everything you could need. Host kindly let us check in a bit earlier upon request. I would absolutely stay here again no question - far superior & better value than the hotels in the area in my opinion.

United KingdomNothing to really complain about, a washing up bowl would be a personal preference for doing dishes. And I was on tip toes to see in the bedroom mirror - my husband, (6ft 2), was happy - it's not often he doesn't have to bend down to see in a mirror on the wall!
The location was great, a couple of minutes walk into Betws-y-Coed. It had a good kitchen, well stocked with plates, cups etc and a kitchen table for 4. The lounge had two good 2 seater settees there was a log burner but we didn't need to use it. The door lock was great rather than messing with key safes and keys. The garden we only discovered properly just before we left, take a walk up it goes on & on! We probably missed a sun trap up there. The parking is on the road but we got a spot for both cars fairly close to the house so wasn't a problem Overall we'd happily stay again, lots of great walks on the doorstep and a pub just a short walk away for a great meal.

United KingdomThis is located in a perfect spot for outdoor activity when arriving by public transport. The railway station is a short walk. There are bus stops nearby for the excellent Eryri National Park Sherpa buses for access to the mountains. It’s also a very short walk to shops, cafes and eating places. The house itself has excellent heating and is very comfortable. There are plenty of shorter walks nearby too, such as the Jubilee Path with lovely views over Betws. The host Richard was very helpful, responsive and flexible.

United KingdomWhilst the bed was very comfortable but would have been nicer if it was a bit bigger. Not having any designated parking outside could be a problem when it was very busy. We did find parking along the road.
The location was excellent for going into the village and for the great walks in the surrounding area. We used the local Sherpa bus a few times which was cheap and very easy to get around. We used it to go to penny pass to climb Snowdon. Very quiet location considering beside the road. The kitchen facilities very very well provided for.All cleaning products ,kitchen roll and tea and coffee. Lovely and warm especially with the log burner. We appreciated the bottle of bubbly to celebrate the new year.

United KingdomNo designated parking, so a free-for-all. Easier during the week, but you may end up some distance away at busy weekends.
Great location on the edge of town, just a few minutes walk to all the amenities on offer. Spacious, well equipped, two bedroom cottage with bags of character and a fantastic back garden. Quiet at night, despite being located on the main road.

United KingdomThe only negatives were : 1. The lack of parking right outside - so it's difficult when unpacking your car. However, good free parking was available a short walk away. 2. The staircase is very steep - not ideal for elderly people or people with knee problems.
We loved the cosiness and good facilities. Great to have a washing machine! Also the TV in bedroom was a plus. We also liked the surprisingly peaceful location (No noise in the early mornings or late evenings.) Everything was very clean and the kitchen facilities were great - it had everything you needed for meal preparation.

United KingdomThe only drawback of the property is parking - there is only shared on-street parking and there are several B&Bs along the road, so availability of a parking space is hit and miss.
Great cottage, very comfortable with good facilities. Excellent kitchen with washing machine. Shower is nice and warm. Sofas in the living room are comfortable. Main bedroom has a comfy double bed and the second room has 2 twin beds. The garden is nice too, ideal for when the sun shines. There a path that leads from the top of the garden into the forest.. 2 minute walk to the Bettws-y-coed shops.

United KingdomI really can't think of anything negative to say. Even Betws which is often mad busy was a nice charming place at that time of year.
Despite it's location next to the main road it was amazingly quiet inside. There was a storm raging outside for a couple of days and you literally wouldn't have known. A nice cosy and quirky place with a good sized kitchen. The wood burner in the lounge is a nice touch. Was really nice to arrive to find a Christmas tree and some decorations setup!
