The water taps in the bathroom, even the ones we use for showering, are old and need to be replaced. The heating in the bathroom also doesn't work.

The hotel's location is excellent, just four minutes from the train station, making it a preferred choice for those with travel bags.

The room was on the top floor with no lift so might be difficult to access for some people.

One of the ensuite bathrooms was a bit pokey and small but not a biggie!

Ruth provided clear and easy check-in instructions, the rooms were as advertised and the beds were very comfortable! It was also nice having smart TVs in each of the rooms so we could connect our accounts for some movies in the evenings.

Unfortunately our bathroom light didn’t work so we was in darkness in there. The shower is also really poor, not sure if they’re trying to preserve water but no pressure at all and very small shower head. Hallways going up to the room could do with a quick refresh. The mattress is also very firm, didn’t sleep the best, but I guess that personal preference and luckily there was a fan as the room was roasting.

4 slats on the wooden bed were snapped in half underneath which made us vary wary of movement on there. 2 of the broken bits were at the edges where you naturally sit when first getting up. Mattress was uncomfortable with thick springs that pinged every time you moved. We couldn't open the window more than a centimetre as it wouldn't stay open it just fell back closed. No WiFi code accessible on arrival, we messaged the hosts and they didn't reply until 24 hours later (we only stayed 3 nights) It stated we had access to streaming channels ie netflix but there were that many profiles still on there that we couldn't add another , it said the maximum 20 profiles had been added.

Was very close to the train station, about a 35 min walk to the lake which is really nice if the weather is nice. Lovely quiet area

The only thing really, is the shower. It needed a bit of power, it was a bit of a dribble!

Lovely cosy little room in a perfect place in Windermere. We didn't have to contact the hosts, but I liked that their numbers were available everywhere.

The stay feels quite impersonal as you don't meet the owners (though they did respond to messages quickly and helpfully). The ensuite toilet/shower was very small, and the bed was too soft for me.

Very convenient location, easy arrival, clean room, plenty of plug sockets, warm shower with good water pressure. Overall fine if you're just looking for a no-frills place to crash after some good hikes.

Strange humming noise late at night and inconvenience of having to find a parking space. This was because the house was on a street where you couldn't park so owners gave drivers places to park further down into Windermere. I parked in booths supermarket for half an hour used their shop, walked over to house which was nearby and unloaded my bags first. Then went back to park at free parking in broad street.

Great location, at the top of Windermere town near the station and within walking distance of the lake and shops. Easy self check in/out on the day.

The toilet needs upgrading as it very slow flashing and have to wait a while. No car park space but we managed to find parking outside on the road
