So to be clear, there is no stove or microwave or toaster oven. There is a kettle, mini-fridge, and regular bread toaster. That was enough for us to have tea, crumpets (which we loved!), and combined that with fresh fruit and jams and yogurts that the hostess provided for our breakfast. But there were no hard boiled eggs (if we'd asked I'm sure she would have given us some but the hostess has kids and a farm to run so I didn't want to give her more work for something I didn't absolutely need) and no hot breakfast in the traditional sense. That was fine for us, we wanted a small breakfast anyway and we were looking to go out to eat, which is the treat for being on vacation. The stairs are narrow and steep but that's part of the charm. This is a working farm with rescue horses, sheep, chickens and roosters. Its idyllic. We could see the docile fat sheep dotting the lush green rolling hills, beautiful blue skies with white puffy clouds, and tons of birdsong. The hostess was wonderfully friendly. I didn't know before I got there that she does wool/rug making classes. Inquire about that. this was also a great spot for lots of travel to distilleries for whiskey tasting; we also drove a really short distance (less than 5 minutes) to hike the tallest hill/mountain in the area. It really is a gorgeous spot and I'm glad a stayed with a local on a farm and had that personal connection to the area rather than a hotel. Warning if you're from the southern USA or California, it can feel QUITE cold even in summer when we went. Be prepared with fleece jackets, sweaters, and layers, including high top sneakers or hiking shoes to traipse through mud & gravel during the inevitable rain. Lots of the whiskey distilleries are also in the middle of parks and nature preserves so you'll encounter some mud and puddles there too.

My family and I had a great stay on the farm, Caitlin was more than generous with her time to chat and show us her animals. It was very welcoming and highly recommended for anyone looking to stay close to Dufftown and its distilleries. Thank you Caitlin for a great stay!

    There’s nothing to not like.

Absolutely everything. There isn’t enough space to fully share everything wonderful about this Scottish farmhouse fairytale land…. Caitlin’s greeting was warm, cheerful and instantly felt like a friend you wanted to keep forever. Her gardens and sheep and chickens are an instant peaceful reset. Her cozy cottage space was just the right size to snuggle in - even with my 2 fully grown boys and husband.

It was a bit cold in the morning. Suggestion - to have a a microwave owen would be very helpful.

Clean apartment, a silent place located in nature but close to the town. Friendly owner who told us about her sheeps and we could feed them. There are some hens and a couple of horses too. The breakfast option was good. Internet was alright. Nice views around the farm, lots of choices for trips neaby.

    Not a thing.

The hospitality of the host, Caitlin was superb and help us with everything we needs for our stays. Provide us with recommendations for the distilleries, restaurants. Holly and the crews are also very friendly and very very cute. We were graceful to be able to stay at her place.

Great location on this farm amongst the speyside hills giving fab views. Not too far from Dufftown for their local amenities. Accommodation was more than ample for the duration of my leisure stay. Spacious comfortable bedroom with adjoining dining area giving plenty of choice for your breakfast needs. Caitlin was fabulous - kind, friendly, and really helpful. Fantastic breakfast, great selection of local produce, including their own freshly ground coffee. A real winner! The location was perfect for us attending a family wedding. Caitlin made sure we were well informed about local events, too, for in between our commitments. Our three year old daughter felt right at home with the animals and had a super afternoon being shown around and introduced to everyone. We loved all the personal touches, handicrafts, and old photographs around the accommodation. Thank you so much for hosting us for a couple of days, we really had a great stay xx

Narrow stairs but a small concern that was far outweighed by the beautiful location, comfortable rooms and wonderful host.

Difficult to find any issues with the accommodation. Couldn't fault the location either,

Caitlin was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfect and the location was ideal both for the hills we were hiking and the town. The photos on the site didn't do the rooms justice and they seemed bigger in reality.

The stairs are steep and narrow especially at the top which might prove tricky for a large person or someone not too steady on their feet. There wasn’t a hairdryer in the room although Caitlin quickly brought her own for us to use when we asked.

The location is stunning. Breakfast was self service and suited us fine. Plenty of choice and fresh fruit. Also available all day which meant we could have something when we returned in the evening. Friendly and helpful host.
