How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Work been done on another floor and workmen took all parking space which is limited anyway, luckily town centre parking is close and cheap

Parking! Only 3 small spaces and 2 taken up by random vehicles not staying at all. I was lucky to get a space on the street behind rooms. One car was parked there all day. Owners tried to resolve this but didn't have much luck. Parking is not easy in the area either so these spaces are crucial for anyone staying in the rooms. My wife was kept awake Sat night by music and noisy people at 2am (next door we think) & someone switching kettle on in kitchen at 2am! Wouldn't stay again unfortunately
Location was fine for what we needed. Room 2 was a great size, very clean. Bathroom was great. Kitchen facilities were a bonus!

Unfortunately a double bed just isn't big enough and the room could fit a queen. Then I would have given 10/10

Slip mat in the shower for seniors!!
Great place to stay right in the heart of Tring. Lovely room, fresh linen, great shower! The communial kitchen very well equipped and right across the hall from us. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

Lots of stairs to the room, but most helpful owner carried the luggage
Very comfortable room and bed, great bathroom. Really unusual place, above a most interesting shop. Very helpful owner and lovely staff, dedicated parking. Situated in a most attractive high street in an interesting town, many eating opportunities close. Kitchen facilities with fridge, oven and washing machine and dishwasher Vintage clothing also in the shop . Well worth a visit

Bath towels need to be larger, although a larger person they were exceptionally small. Unfortunately noisy neighbour who didn't understand the quite time rules!
Superb location bright airy room with excellent facilities laid on. Kitchen area was well equipped and provided everything needed for a long or short stay.

There was a VERY strong (and unpleasant) air freshener scent in room and hallway that took over 12 hours to clear out :( I had to open the window for a while to make the room tolerable. The place was clean and didn’t otherwise seem to smell badly so I don’t think the use of this air freshener is necessary and was actually unpleasant.
Location was great, bed was comfortable, bathroom Was clean and kitchen facilities were very nice.

Only comment would be to put a king size bed in there. It’s a huge room and a king size would make the stay more comfortable.

Sadly our car tyre was flat on leaving to get to an important service. We missed the event. We guess driving through the storm was the cause.
Cleanliness and quality of apartment. Useful well equipped kitchen area.

We didn't stay on for breakfast, however the variety available would have been fine. Our stay was due to playing music in the Con Club next door so ir was a perfect location.

Key to door at top of stairs bit difficult to use but got the hang of it. Would have liked firmer pillows.
We stayed in top floor room 2. Great location and beautiful place to stay. Really clean. Massive space as well. Bathroom was exceptional! Bit of a problem with the promised free parking but very quickly and politely resolved. No hesitation in recommending and would definitely stay again.

Would have preferred a king sized bed and firmer mattress , the room just has a double with a soft mattress. But it honestly didn't spoil our one night stay.
Central location. Top floor, large spotless room In a property full of character. Large modern bathroom with a large walk in power shower. Wardrobe and 2 chairs and coffee table. A large standard fan, which was much appreciated as it was a warm night. Nice touches were house plants, really nice quality toiletries, and fluffy towels. Separate well equipped kitchen shared between 3 rooms, with breakfast bar, cooker, coffee machine with supplied pods, kettle, plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery and a large choice of tea/coffee etc and milk. Also, a large fridge freezer, so you could keep drinks cold and have ice if you wanted. The host had really thought of everything. It appears that accommodation in central Tring is in short supply, and I would definitely recommend this property. Great value in comparison to Premier Inn, or other accommodation outside town, especially as Taxis can be a bit hit and miss.

The mattress was too soft for my liking.
The room was very well decorated with an excellent shower room and a well stocked kitchen, shared with the other rooms. The shower was very good quality. Located conveniently in the centre of Tring. Very clear instructions about how to access the room.

Nothing. There is a walk to the penthouse which might not suit everyone but was fine for us.
The communal kitchen for drinks and cooking (which we didn't use, but nice anyway!). Handy location. Very nicely furnished and decorated. Comfy beds. Light and airy. Lovely bathroom!
