Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOnly thing to comment on are the midges. There were a lot and they were very annoying. But that has nothing to do with the property or the host! It didnt take away from the amazing stay we had.
This was an absolute gem! We loved being away from Portree but still close enough. The caravan was perfect with so many extra touches and items. We had fresh eggs and a loaf of bread. It was such a lovely stay. We would definitely stay again if in the area!

AustraliaNothing. We were very happy but the following information may be helpful for some people to know when booking. If you have large suitcases like we have, storage of them is limited to the area between the couches. The bed is against the wall so one person has to climb over the other one if getting up in the night. The shower is small and maybe difficult to use if a person has limited mobility.
A very comfortable caravan that is very well equipped and has many thoughtful touches such as fresh eggs, bread, butter, condiments, drinks, face washers all supplied. The setting is beautiful, views out the front to the Isle of Raaasay The host family are friendly but also very respectful of their guests’ privacy. A quiet setting away from the busyness of Portree but not too far away. The bed is very comfortable and there are comfortable couches for relaxing on and looking out at the scenery. There is an outdoor furniture setting just at the front of the van. A pleasant stay, we would have happily stayed for longer if our travel schedule had permitted it.

United StatesNothing at all. You will need a car!!!
The location was idyllic. It was just enough off the beaten path but was an easy drive to all of the glorious sights on Skye. The caravan overlooked the Sound of Raasay, the deepest part of the ocean in all of the UK. It was affordable, sooooo cozy, very clean and full of charm. There were rocky beaches as well as a large stretch of sandy beach within a ten minutes walk (frolick) from the property. Sheep were everywhere and we were delighted to visit with them each morning. It was heavenly.

Beautiful quiet location. The caravan was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. In a situation where the supermarkets on Skye had empty shelves, we were so grateful that Lauren had provided milk, bread, butter, eggs and cakes.

United KingdomEverything was perfect, even the weather!
The Kintyre Caravan is a cosy, exceptionally well-equipped van in a gorgeous location. The van is small but every space is used perfectly. The hosts were great and were always available if needed. It was really cold one night during my stay but the provided heaters did their job well. The views are wonderful. You can sit in the lounge looking at the Raasay ferry coming and going or glance to your right and see the Five Sisters of Kintail in the gap between Raasay and Scalpay. The location is down a few miles of single track road but is less than 20 minutes from Portree which is a lovely wee town. The hosts provided various items (teabags, chocolate, spices etc.) but the crowning glory was the basket of fresh eggs from the hens you can see (and hear) out the back. It was an absolute joy to stay there and I would highly recommend it.

FranceThe location is great as it is central in the island of Skye and we could access every point of interest easily (by car). It is also a bit outside the main touristy road so it felt more authentic and has amazing views. The caravan is amazing, it felt so cozy and intimate. You can really tell that a lot of attention was given to details, it felt like home (we particularly enjoyed the choice of CDs, all the spices available to cook and the wisdom potatos). We highly recommend the place.

It's an absolute gem of a location a short drive from Portree. Hosts are lovely - Lauren was super welcoming and helpful. It was just a joy to sit in the caravan after a day out and watch the sky and maybe take a midnight walk, admire the big sky, with no light pollution and listen the silence. Awesome. Caravan is very well equipped - they've thought of everything.

Lauren has spoiled us in her caravan: we expected the view, but we also got plenty useful and charming attentions on top (milk and butter in the fridge, a whole assortment of spices, activities recommendations,…). We felt very welcome and at home! And the environment is just wonderful: smashing view and sunset.
