Room wasn’t cleaned on two or three days, had to ask manager for towels,we were informed couple of days before leaving about the complimentary drink system, bit I told the manager we knew nothing about it.

Loved the breakfast, evening meal was also very good.

We did find it a bit difficult to find even with the sat nav. No toilet brush in bathroom.

Location was very good for everything. It was in a quiet location so no noise at night. Breakfast could have been better as it was over cooked. The room was ok but bed a little hard for our liking. As it was warm a fan was left in the room for our use.

Our bathroom was on the small side, but was perfectly functional. Good ambient and main lighting. Our bed, although a double, was on the smallish side, it's not as wide as we're used to at home, but it is the perfect size for available space.

Our second visit, again, we appreciated the friendly and professional staff, we had a nice clean bedroom on the ground floor at the front of the hotel and we enjoyed a quiet, peaceful and good value stay. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of hot meals cooked to order, and self serve drinks, cereals, fruit and pastries. Our evening meal, in the bar, was delicious and the bar itself is a nice place to be; on our stay there was a nice mix of older hotel guests and locals. The hotel didn't seem to be full so we had no trouble parking. Our room (#23) had full-length windows facing the garden at the front of the hotel so there was plenty of natural light. We had been driving all day so after dinner we took a walk into Durham city, which is a short downhill walk away.

Because of the price point our rooms were dark and didn't have much of a view - probably to be expected.

Attraction was that parking was available, and safe, and the location was a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to Durham Cathedral and Castle. The Cathedral was magnificent - please do the tour, it's work every penny. Back to accommodation - we stayed 1x night on a last minute deal so price point was good. It suited our purposes very well in terms of location and parking. The evening meal was better than the usual bar food and breakfast was ok.

The menu for the evening meals seemed a bit restrictive (not many options), we would have liked a jacket potato option maybe or a sandwich/panini menu for lighter food options. Breakfast options were great but the full English breakfast was lost in the huge plate it arrived on.

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and well maintained. The restaurant was very clean and had a lovely homely decor. All the staff were polite and helpful, especially the maintenance man who helped my daughter and I with our cases up to our room. Due to allergies, I was happy to learn that the kitchen was completely nut free.

Great location to visit Durham, proximity to wildlife area at the back to the Inn is perfect for the dog. Food great, staff lovely. Good shower. Very dog friendly.

there was a drain smell in our room thst wasn't resolved. & we had to walk the long way into town to avoid the drug/anti social teenager gangs that congregate around the bus station so location not great sadly.
