Person serving breakfast was a little sullen. There was furniture being stored in the entrance to our room corridor.

We were going to a wedding party , had shower and washed my hair ; sat down at dressing table to blow dry my hair and there was no mirror!!!?? Breakfast was awful , the waitress got our orders completely wrong 3 times !!! And it was cold !! The help yourself buffet was good so filled up on toast and pastries . The tea was good and just had to ask for more if the waitress had written down our orders it would have Bern good !! Also when we checked in . They said I hadn't paid . I said it was with booking . Com Then at 6.15 am I was woken with a message from the hotel saying my payment hadn't gone through could I pay it or go to reception which I did , I showed them my receipts for payment Wasn't a very good system We also use booking.com and never had a problem like this ??

No mirror in room to dry my hair. Not the room I booked, Had to eat in the bar, with a table of very loud very racist people near, one man could have been a town crier, and the language was awful.

Lovely old pub and the rooms were very comfortable with nesspresso machine in room beds comfortable and large bathroom . Breakfast was excellent with around 7 options plus small buffet

Nothing really. It is a very old building with a new annex block with rooms so you have a choice where to stay. The bar and reception-dining area could probably do with a little spruce up but not too much as it would lose its character

Really good location and big car park. The room also had air conditioning. Staff were first class and really friendly without being over the top. Jay is a top bloke.

The bathroom was tiny and the shower difficult to move around once in. The breakfast was okay but the breakfast room was very cramped with tables far to close together.

Minor problems. Bed could have been more comfortable, very small bathroom sink and a shelf next to the shower for shampoo would have been nice. Not that any of that would put me off staying again.

Perfect location in the centre of Amersham. We were attending a wedding at the venue. On site parking was perfect (we got a space directly opposite our room). We managed to get to breakfast at it’s busiest time but Katrina looked after us so well (not to say that the others weren’t working just as hard) and our well cooked meal came in reasonable time.

Room window security catch (the restrictor) was broken so impossible to close it securely and the hair dryer was missing. I reported both to reception on checkout

Just 2 small things which certainly didn't spoil the stay but maybe would have made it even better - a stain on one of the small cushions in the room and on the breakfast, tasteless, pale bacon with white unappealing fat. Shame on both fronts.

We were visiting family so the location was good. We have stayed before so knew roughly what to expect and we weren't disappointed. We had the executive double, 213, instead of the standard double we had on a previous visit and liked the room very much. It was a great size, well decorated and furnished with a really beautiful bathroom and fabulous mirrors. We'll definitely try for it again in the future. Plenty of breakfast choices and on the whole good enough. Great staff, friendly, efficient and obliging.

Organisation of breakfast was poor. The hotel was very busy but even still the staff struggled to deal with guests in different rooms. The buffet was finished and the food took a while to come.

Being an old timber frame building, the car park entrance was narrow from the street but this can not be changed

Beautiful old building with lovely staff. Bed extremely uncomfortable. Need to have bigger bed where you can’t feel springs of bed.

The hotel is very attractive and in a lovely setting. The room was in a modern building but was comfortable and nicely furnished. The bathroom was new and everything was in excellent order. The food in the restaurant was good if unexceptional. Breakfast was very good.
