Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainI arrived late at night and when I came there's phone number on the bar but I couldn't contact it. The roomates are so noisy they're talking at the phone until 1 am, no respect at all. Oh, and there's no towels, so you have to bring your own.
I like that the location is near on everything i went. It's like a soundproof room. You can't hear anything outside the room. Transportations are perfect. Near busses near train

CanadaAn actual kitchen and dining area for guests would be a big improvement. Most hostellers are on a tight budget and eating out every day is just not possible. We rely on eating breakfast and most dinners in our hostel.
Basic hostel, as the name says, it is a bed. There is no kitchen but there are a microwave, toaster, kettle and refrigerator for guest use, but NO silverware, dishes etc. The only lounge is the Pub on the ground floor but as they have a restaurant you can’t really take your own food to eat there. Although it is a pretty long way out of Central London if you use the DLR and the tube you can get to the Theatre District or shopping in Oxford St or n 40 minutes. Krima the young lady on the front desk/bar was a total Sweetheart, nothing was too much trouble to help a guest, always smiling she made my stay great.

United StatesThe mattresses aren't great. The bunk beds are flimsy. And, there is no ventilation outside of the room! The windows are locked shut!
The lockers in the room are good. Bring you own lock.

United StatesThere's an Indian guy who cleans and walks around mumbling (to someone on the phone, I guess) all day long. He says he works from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (even though the cleaning hours are from 9-5), but he was there at 7 a.m. one day. Every time I went to the bathroom that day, he exited a barhroom stall when he heard the door open. And that happened often the other days, too. Besides all that, he stares at you with a weird smile on his face. Absolutely gave me the creeps; though, I have heard that that is common behavior in India.
Most of the employees are nice and helpful. The pillows are good.

New ZealandIn the heat of summer, the lack of air conditioning meant we relied on the fan. Not necessarily too bad but it's something to be aware of if you are susceptible to temperature. We had trouble getting back into the pub - we were told it was closed, even though our bags were in there and we needed to get them. We knocked several times but were shooed away - this was frustrating as we had to txt to get our bags.
It was one of the cheaper options - if you are into the bar/hostel environment, stay here. It was cheap comparatively and the location around was fun. For food - head to the communist kebab, it was delicious. It was easy enough to get in and we were able to store our bags in the pub when we had checked out.

United KingdomI suppose it would be helpful if they could have stuff on hand for check-in time to allow people to drop off their baggage. That's all I can really think of.
Overall, I could say I had a good stay at this place. Staff were helpful when they were on the clock, facilities located about a 10-minute walk away from deptford station, and the facilities were pretty clean. The staff were even nice enough to allow me to purchase a water in the early morning hours..

FinlandNo air condition, and the fan in the room didn't hit me, so I was sweating the whole night. No elevator and the stairs to the rooms/bathrooms were narrow and tall, so prepare to carry your luggage upstairs.
The room was nice, location wise very good

HungaryShowers and toilets are on a corridor, there's no separate male and female bathroom and no place to place the clothes outside the cubicles while the people have a shower
Check in and opening the doors with an app was strange but the bar staff waw very helpful and showed me around and how to open the doors. I booked a single room, the bed was comfortable and I slept well.

SwedenIt was very hot in the room but it didn't bother me too much, I don't know what you usually can expect in the UK during the summer.. but some more AC would've been nice. Shower soap, free towels and plastic forks and knives by the "kitchen" area would've been a big plus. Sometimes the reception/bar area wasn't open (one time in the morning) even though it said it would, guessing because they were short of staff that morning.
It was nice! What I expected for the price. I traveled alone and stayed for two nights. Quite close to public transport and grocery stores. They had everything needed for a shorter hostel stay - fridge, microwave, water dispenser.. lockers in the room and the bed was comfortable too. Big plus for the use of an app to unlock the doors and stuff like that - no need for keys that could be lost and the check-out was simple too.

United KingdomNot enough toilets and showers when busy. Mattresses uncomfortable but it’s a cheap to stay at hostel I suppose. Had an awful nights sleep before the marathon but that was the other guests fault (several of them snored very, very, very badly) and not the hostels.
Good location for the marathon. Great staff. Very quiet area. Water coolers useful. Toilets and showers clean. Pub downstairs is lovely. Key app is really easy and convenient.

United KingdomI was surprised by the same gender toilets and personally did not like that. The bed was not very clean but acceptable as I only needed one sleep.
The staff is extra nice and such a vibe. The room has sunlight and is very clean. Beds have their own curtains and many sockets. Nice policy and easy check-in, check-out. I was able to check-in early and dropped my luggage in the room instead of paying for storage.

MalaysiaThe toilets and bathrooms are shared among the female and male guests. The bathroom cubicle was not high enough, and I felt uncomfortable using it. For the toilets, many times the guests didn't flush them after use.
