United KingdomWindows in the room are a little drafty. No lock on bathroom door. The mirror on the wall is in a dark corner devoid of light, so is fairly pointless.

Since we have family in the area, the Pine Marten has become our go-to accommodation when visiting Harrogate. The family rooms are spacious and comfortable for our two young children. It is within a few hundred yards of the RHS Harlow Carr gardens and they are well worth a visit. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Responsiveness of staa was exceptional, especially when we found we had left a senitmental piece of jewellery behind by mistake. Staff had it delivered to our home three days later, first class service.

United KingdomAs discussed with the manager, cleanliness needs improving, notably we complained about the dining room floor. The place is getting tired, appears 'unloved', with chipped paintwork and marked furnishings. Also, silly little things, the washbasin plug didn't hold water, the basin just emptied continuously; only 2 of 3 downlighters worked. Could be a fabulous place, but unfortunately, it isn't.

Food was excellent. We ate in the restaurant both evenings of our stay. Good menu and excellent food. Staff were very good. Substantial breakfast was very good too. But the choice was cereal(s) / pastries or cooked breakfast rather than cereals followed by a cooked breakfast choice. Slightly unusual?

United KingdomOnly downside it is an old building and when in the bedrooms we noticed a few creaky floorboards.
Location very close to RHS Harlow Carr, breakfast all served to the table except for teas and coffees and juices. Cooked breakfast very good quality produce, we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. Only one evening meal, which again was served well, very good produce and tasty food. Bar was well stocked, with prices not too bad. Rooms good, beds pretty comfy, bathroom shower only, but this was sufficient for our stay. Good tea tray selection of teas and coffee. Overall a very pleasant stay and somewhere we would consider returning to.
