Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery friendly and helpful owners, great facilities, tasteful décor, tasty breakfast. It felt like home away from home or visiting relatives. I'd definitely recommend this B&B to others wishing to go to a remote location in Scotland.

GermanyA wonderful stay in a peaceful corner of Scotland. The setting is perfect for hikes, with Innes giving excellent tips for exploring the area. The rooms are beautifully designed, spotless, and full of thoughtful details. Liz’s breakfast was fantastic. Our only regret is not staying longer — we would have much preferred more time here over busy Skye.

United StatesStaying at Innes House with Mike and Liz was one of the best parts of our trip. They’re such lovely, genuine people — we really enjoyed chatting with them and felt so welcome. Breakfast was amazing, with traditional Scottish favorites like haggis, Lorne sausage, and black pudding that was surprisingly delicious! Mike and Liz gave us the best local tips, like visiting Tiorem Castle and Sanna Beach, which we absolutely loved. The house felt like a home away from home, full of thoughtful little touches that showed how much care they put into making guests feel special. We especially loved how they raised a flag based on where their guests came from — such a sweet, personal touch. Our kids absolutely loved playing with their dog, who was such a sweetheart and made our stay even more memorable. Thanks to them and the beautiful Highlands, we completely fell in love with Scotland. We can’t wait to come back someday and see Mike and Liz again. Truly the highlight of our UK adventure!

NetherlandsLiz and Mike are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome from the start. They provided us with many options on things to do and were always happy to help. Breakfast was just excellent; fresh bread, fruits, cereals and a wide choice of warm orders would rival any 5-star hotel.

United KingdomAlthough our stay was short, it was truly wonderful - Innes House B&B is by far the nicest non-chain accommodation we've stayed at. Liz and Innes were incredibly welcoming and attentive hosts. You can tell they’ve poured their heart and soul into this beautiful house, as every detail has been carefully considered to make guests feel at home. The views from our bedroom windows were stunning. The cooked breakfast was delicious, and we especially loved the yogurt served with a generous portion of fresh fruit. Breakfast was served in the conservatory, which overlooked a beautifully kept garden and the mountains beyond. The setting and the table itself genuinely made us all say "wow." Innes also recommended some local landmarks that weren’t originally on our itinerary, and we’re so glad he did. We visited them all, and the highlight of our day was definitely Traigh Beach. Thank you for such a memorable experience. I’ll definitely return if I'm ever back in the area!

ItalyJust one small thing: more electric outlets in the room, please. Otherwise it was perfect and we wish we could have stayed longer!
We were greeted warmly at this fabulous B&B. We had a family room and the host was kind enough to add an extra bed because the sofa bed would not have been large enough for two adults. The double bed seemed to be wider than most others we found in Scotland. Beautifully decorated room and the best breakfast (made to order!) we had in Scotland. Lots of great info from the hosts on what to do nearby.

AustraliaThe location of the accommodation, provided by Booking.com, did not include the address or street name which made it difficult to locate. The consistent Summer rain.
Our hosts provide a clean, comfortable and friendly experience with a local knowledge that assisted greatly in the selection of attractions to visit. Breakfast was great and a good start to each day. Not knowing what to expect, we were very much impressed with our selected accommodation. Our gratitude and appreciation is extended to our hosts. United KingdomLeaving! ;-) Seriously though, we couldn't fault anything!
Stayed here over two nights end of May! Hosts Liz and Mike were so welcoming and lovely. The room itself (named Loch Shiel) was a huge dual aspect room with superb views to the front of Loch Shiel and the mountains beyond and to the rear a beautiful garden with the hills behind. The room has a large bathroom with nice toiletries and really soft towels! One thing I really appreciate is the black out blinds. In Scotland it gets dark very late and light very early, so for the best nights sleep for me I need a black out blind. Very few places think of this! The room also has tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk available and nice biscuits! The bed was huge and comfortable, just what you need after a long drive!! Breakfasts were excellent, with a wide choice for cooked breakfast selected in your room the night before...everything you would want hot!! Plus continental items such as croissants, pastries available with Liz's home made jams! All the cooked items were from local suppliers and were of the highest quality. So well rested and belly full, we were able to get some really good advice on our plans for sightseeing. Both Liz and Mike have a great local knowledge which will take you to some beautiful places. Mike is a photographer and is happy to share some special hints and tips to get to the special places!! Overall we had a great stay in a wonderful place, made so special by such warm, welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. Thank you Liz and Mike!
