Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAlthough the bed is very comfy it is a job to get into as it is very high up!
Very clean, hot tub is ace and just outside! All cooking essentials provided. Even kindly left a bottle of bubbly in the fridge and some ice! Fabulous location and so serine and quiet but still not far from any shops if needed. Clione was very hospitable and made our stay so stress free!

United KingdomThere are lots of flies (not a complaint as you’d expect in the countryside!) however Cleone had already equipped the hut with fly spray and a fly door. My only recommendation would be to fit the windows with fly screens as it was warm overnight but didn’t want to open the windows due to the creepy crawlies!
This property is perfectly situated a stones throw from Penrith but far enough that you feel you are completely secluded among the beautiful fields and hills that surround the hut. It was comfortable, well equipped and provided us a beautiful stay! The wood-fired hot tub is so much fun, there is also a log burner inside and a fire pit on the patio which we enjoyed roasting marshmallows on. We were able to star-gaze from the hot tub and loved listening to the rain on the roof whilst we were snuggled in bed. One thing we appreciated is that the tv had Netflix so we were able to have cosy nights in, listening to the rain and enjoying our favourite movies. We would recommend to anyone visiting the lakes, Inglewood Shepherds Huts are a must! Also the host Cleone is lovely, very attentive and accessible via message, whilst also giving you the space to enjoy the stay. We couldn’t praise you enough!

United KingdomDisappointed that the outdoor sofa was broken and very uncomfortable. Housekeeping felt rushed as ashtray outside from previous guest had not been emptied and outside terraced area was not clean. Rubbish under sofa inside the hut.
Loved the peaceful location. Enjoyed the wood fired hot tub.Dog friendly and Rory welcomed the dog welcome pack.Bed was very comfortable and good quality bedding.Great shower and toiletries. Welcoming bottle of prosecco was appreciated.

United KingdomThat we had to go home!
My Husband and I stayed for a few nights end of July, and if it wasn't for other guests arriving the next day, we'd have never left. Absolutely stunning area, hot tub was excellent and loved being right by the farm animals. Having the use of the BBQ was great, doubled as a bug repellent on the evening once you finish cooking. Cleone was perfect, on holiday but still answered every query or issue, like working the hob. The hut itself was great, so modernised but still felt country, was great having a fridge and cooking appliances. The view was excellent, can not beat the English countryside. Can not wait to do it again! We want to visit again in the winter, I know it will feel magical! Thank you Cleone, hope to be back soon!

United KingdomReally well thought out layout and content, done out to a really high standard. Lovely clean bathroom, modern kitchen setup. Storage under bed was useful. Sofa bed was a bonus. Beautiful quiet location, with good parking nearby. Wood-fired hot tub was a first but my sister is great with fire and it got very hot quite quickly. Owner was very helpful, great comms. Overall a fab stay!

United KingdomThe outdoor seating at the otter is starting to break down which shows how much people love sitting outside and enjoying the scenic view.
Very beautiful country location. Went with a dog in tow and we were able to let him have a good run around in the enclosed space around the huts. We drove to new and interesting places nearby like Penrith and Carlisle. The bed was definitely the tallest I've ever climbed into but there was a little folding step still under it that helped. Kitchenette had all the basics for us to have meals and the TV can be moved to point at the sofa or the bed depending on your mood. Some toffee from a local shop was put out and prosecco which went down a treat and the doggy goodie bag with the biscuits and poo bags was very sweet. Parking was great and easy to find and electric car charger point available. Would definitely do again if in the area with the pooch.

United KingdomNothing to note.
What a great stay we had in our shepherds hut. The location is really serene and tranquil with great views. The hut was surprisingly spacious inside with everything you need including storage. The hut was very clean with 4 well defined areas. There is a BBQ and hot tub and privacy for this. The location is very close to Penrith. I would highly recommend and I would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomOutside furniture could do with updating (covers stained/dog hairs). Dirty bbq. A couple of coat hangers would be good + a coffee machine. The bed is high (had a laugh getting in) so maybe a wooden 2 step tucked underneath would be good, for us little people.
Badger hut was as expected, cosy and in a great location. Had all we needed for a 2 night break. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and getting both is rare. The views and surrounding area was beautiful and Penrith just a short drive away. There’s a fly net on the doors which did keep them away and spray repellent provided.

United KingdomUnfortunately there were alot of flies in the property that cleon was really apologetic about. She gave us fly spray and products to help alleviate and by the end of the night it had cut down considerably.
The location was lovely. Very secluded and Trànquil. Close proximity to many attractions (30mins by car minimum) The hot tub was lovely too, we couldn't quite get the jist of it at first but once we cracked that there was an air bubble restricting flowit was a game changer. The bed was lush. My party er is 6ft 6 and he had to climb onto the bed. I felt like a princess without the pea
