We arrived 5 minutes before breakfast (told it opens at 8am on the Sunday) to find the dining room at 80% capacity already with families with children. It didn't affect the breakfast but we were worried about the use of the swimming pool later - we didn't need to worry. Swimming pool facilities as well as breakfast advertises that it opens at 8 but checkout is at 10 which is a little tight. There is lack of space in the bathroom (only a hook for a hand towel) to put towels and toiletry bags. The room is a little dated for the price we paid.

The room was standard as expected with a hotel. I had a good night sleep. The water for the shower and the bath was powerful. The breakfast was a yummy buffet. We used the swimming pool facilities including the sauna and the steam room which were brilliant. The staff were smiley and welcoming across the facilities which was great. We wanted extra pillows for the room (only 1 per person in the room) and they accommodated quickly. Asked for a room away from any events - they were having a wedding - and this was accommodated to also.

Cleanliness the roomis not serviced if you stay more than one night.I had to ask for clean cups, additional toiletries and water. The bins remained unemptied and I found a mouldy orange under one of the chairs a dirty sock under the bed (i wasn’t on all fours lioking, it was poking out, quite visable). The bathroom ceiling had patches of mould the tv remote did not work and nor did the replacement. They could not find replacement batteries. Only 2 pillows on the double bed had to go and ask for 2 more

There were roadworks on the road to the hotel and the diversion meant taking a 10 mile detour to the next junction of the M3 and approaching the hotel from the opposite direction. I would have appreciated a message from the hotel advising of this issue prior to my arrival.

Room was better than expected with small table and chairs for dining. Bed was very comfortable.

My bed was facing a window without a curtain. With the summer sun streaming into my face at 5:00am, I could not get back to sleep. I moved the entire bed for the second night and that helped. All it would take to resolve this would be a curtain on the window.

We arrived just before 11pm due to travelling 4 hours and was surprised to find the bar was closing. Maybe the bar should stay open later.

We were told check out was 10 even though it was 11. Slightly dated property slightly uncomfortable mattress. But for the price it was fine.

Being put into a room that was more or less above a dance band for a wedding happening at the venue. It was a hot night. The air conditioning had been turned off or wasn't working and the band played until midnight, so we had to keep the windows shut to try and (unsuccessfully) get some sleep. Accept such events occur, and that the band would play until late, but guests like us need to get housed away from the noise as far as possible.

The opportunity to have a reasonably priced three course meal was appreciated given the location.

Halfway through our breakfast we were delayed because a large conference party took over by queuing to obtain their breakfasts which they then took back to their room. Seemed very strange to be confronted with a long queue when we wanted to have our hot egg and bacon having started with cereals.
