With the window open, it was sometimes noisy from people who were visiting the garage opposite.

Easy to find, parking opposite was available near to the all night garage. The host explained everything clearly. It's a cheap no thrills accommodation, which is all I needed.

Small rooms. Congested stairways. No lift. Smelly everywhere.

Cheap compared to UK standards. Free roadside parking next to petrol pump after 6 PM.

It's pretty noisy (gulls, traffic). It didn't bother me too much, but it might if you are a light sleeper. I can't really blame the hotel for the fact that I was stung by a wasp during the night!

You probably wouldn't come here for your honeymoon, but for the price there is not much to complain about.

The petrol station is on the other side which is open 7*24 hours and creates a lot of noise.

Close to the center of Dover.

Cons - • Hotel parking doesn’t have one. Had to park above the hotel where there is a parking lot but 10-12 minutes walk to get to the hotel that’s free parking 24/7. • the floors of the bathroom felt that needed to changed due feeling like waters seeped through it and making the floors feel like it cave in. • the shower and sink faucet would start running for a couple seconds but then it would stop and takes a couple tries to have the water running again. • the room itself, was decently cleaned but it felt not the best. • There was a few bugs that I found on my bed and that made it uncomfortable. • as far as value, just feels like you are paying how close you are to the city or beach as it’s not far away to there.

Pros - • Close to the city which is a few minutes of a walk. • The walk to the beach is 10-15 minutes.

Extremely noisy from other guests banging around early morning and late at night. It says it's a no smoking property which is good as I don't smoke but clearly someone before had been smoking in my room as the room smelled pretty bad.

Acceptable reasonably priced one night stay in Alma House Dover

The room is small but adequate, but the ensuite is really tiny. The property needs tarting up a bit with better paintwork. It's on a main road with 24hr filling station opposite, and a lot of noise. The single glazed windows lets it straight in. A socket by the bed for phone charging would be lovely, though there was one elsewhere in the room.

Alma House is ideally located near the white cliffs dock area and castle. There is free parking in the road opposite after 5:30 pm. The accommodation is basic but adequate for a short stay. The price reflects this. A staff member let me in and gave me the main door and room code for the day of my stay.

Host was a bit grumpy. WiFi did not work most of the time. Our host blamed our “gadgets”.

Not sure what else might have been available in Dover, so think it was as good as it gets.

You get what you pay for. No one answered the door for an extended period of time while I tried to check in. I tried contacting the owner in the morning and no one answered or called me back. Very loud through the whole night, I would recommend ear plugs.

Very small room, narrow hallway, step staircase, and heavy doors. It is difficult to handle heavy luggage. Old and small bathroom as well as a smelly shared kitchen. We were asked not to drink the water from the bathroom. Only tapwater in the kitchen is drinkable.

Close to ferry port. Good option for those who need to get on an early ferry and need no comfort. Helpful staff. Convenience store opposite the hotel. Close to town.
