Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beds were awful. We had twin beds and they seemed to make you feel like you were about to be tipped out of bed. They were a bit lumpy as well and each single bed seemed to have a single duvet that had been wrapped (literally) in a super king size duvet cover which you kind of get all tangled up in.
Close location to city centre and zoo. Lifts to all floors Decent sized room. Loved hearing the buff cheeked baboons "sing" early morning from the zoo next door. They were brilliant. Decent breakfast although not fantastic quality ingredients...although I wouldn't necessarily expect top quality from a lower end chain hotel. Drinks from the bar were pricey but a good selection. Helpful cheerful staff.

United KingdomI ordered a paper based towel for my face but no one came even after calling 3-4 times.
There were a lot of stains on the mat. The gallery leading to the hotel room was also not clean and there were marks on the walls and wooden doors.

United KingdomTraffic noise from busy road outside till late at night but it subsided after midnight.
The room was comfortable. I particularly liked using the swimming pool before breakfast. It was fairly quiet and the water was warm. Breakfast was good but no porridge available which I normally have.

Swimming pool, steam room & gym included in the room. Nikki at the front desk had especially great customer service skills & should train the rest of the front desk staff on how to greet customers

United KingdomThe only negative was noise from other guests late at night and into the early hours, which was exhausting.
Great location right next to the the zoo, bus stop just outside for easy access to other attractions. Room was clean and a good size. Great selection of food for breakfast and the evening meals were delicious and you got your food very quickly. The staff were lovely and helpful and service in the restaurant was fantastic.

United KingdomStayed in a twin room where the bed had wheels that caused it to move while turning during sleep. Noise from other rooms was noticeable, and the pillows were poor quality, leaving neck pain the next day.
Good location with free parking. Just 20 minutes by bus to the city centre with frequent day and night services. Enjoyed the sauna and pool.

Czech RepublicThe carpets on 4th floor were extremely dirty. The Family room is very small for 4 people - it was ok for 1 night, but I wouldn't stay there for longer.
It was a really good choice for us - one night stay in a Family room. Close to the airport, so really good for the morning flight. The breakfast is from 6.30 and the selection is very good. We also got the promotion price, which added to the better price-value balance. The staff is welcoming and the restaurant area is cozy.

United KingdomRoom on the whole was clean I can ignore the stains on curtain nets and carpet, and the old worn down toilet seats, but the chunky left overs on the outside of the toilet bowl and red stains on the wipe down headboard were not overly pleasant. that being said everything else was spot on.
We had a bad experience here two years ago and I'm glad we tried again. The staff were very friendly, check in/out was smooth, you can not beat the location, you can hear the zoo animals in the morning! Breakfast was a little hectic, but isn't it everywhere. The was a great selection to choose from and restaurant was tidy, clean, and smart. We had a twin double and the room was a good size and bed was comfortable.

AustraliaAccess to the hotel is via stairs or a clinb up a rather long ramp if you're not arriving by car, which I found rather odd for such a big hotel.
The Holiday Inn was good value for money considering the price of accommodation during the Fringe Festival. The hotel is situated about 30min bus ride from the old town however the convience of having a bus stop just outside the hotel us super handy and we found it very easy to get around. Food at the restaurant was nice and well priced and the breakfast offered daily was great to get a good meal to start the day. The rooms are clean, however, can do with an upgrade. All the staff were very helpful and very polite to assist with any queries we had.

AustraliaThe car park was very tight and hard to park a mid sized car. The rooms are tired and dated and despite having a non smoking room there was a lingering cigarette smell in the room.
The bus stop put the front of the hotel was very convenient and allowed quick and hassle free access to the city. Staff were friendly and helpful and the bar area was fantastic for a light meal and drink.
