How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The carpark is about 300m away which is only not so good if it's raining, not a problem otherwise. My car was safe there even if I did worry a bit as I couldn't see it! There was nothing negative about this place. I hope to go back next year.
The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent, in the town, but it was quiet. It was ideal for hiking, with plenty of choices where to go. In the accommodation itself, the bathroom was good with a decent shower, the bed was comfortable, there was tea and coffee in the room and the host was friendly and helpful. I hope to stay there next year.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable and quiet at night. Bathroom clean and nice white thick towels with soap and hand cream shower gel provided. Felt very safe car parking very good well organised. Host was very helpful and breakfast was first class everything you could wish for and served by very pleasant lady that was helping out she was very cheerful .

The owners Steve And Caz were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy with nice Dunhelm pillows. The full English breakfast was tasty and cooked well . Recommended to excellent local restaurant called Zefferellis .

Steve and caz are amazing hosts very friendly and helpful a pleasure to stay at their BnB. The breakfast was out of this world. Would highly recommend to all, I will be going back again.

Steve and Caz were welcoming and friendly from the outset. Providing all the necessary details about the B&B for the duration of our stay, as well as the very convenient and secure parking arrangements. They were always available to chat and sort out any questions, The room was just as expected with coffee, tea etc. and biscuits in the room. soft towels and all the toiletries in the ensuite including a motion sensor night light and, a very comfortable bed. The breakfasts covered all bases including juices, cereals, fruit and nuts & yogurt, followed by many variations of freshly cooked breakfasts including my personal favourite, pancakes with all the trimmings. The location is very convenient for all the area has to offer......Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and very good service. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Easy walking distance from shops, restaurants and parking and a real bonus to have free parking. Ambleside is a great base for hill and more gentle walking.
