Well this is a hard one, maybe just my mobility issues I’d have preferred a shower to an over the bath shower but that said I would definitely stay here again and I hope to one day in the future return for a few days rather than an overnight stay

We received a very friendly welcome upon our arrival at Highland Getaway, we filled out our breakfast choices for the next morning, booked in for dinner at the restaurant upstairs and were then taken to our room (in a separate building a couple of doors down from the pub). The room itself was very clean, had two comfy armchairs and had two packets of biscuits waiting for us, which were very quickly eaten up. Located over the road from Leven Bites (a lovely sandwich shop where we got pur lunch for the next day's walking the West Highland Way) and the Co-Op. The Highland Getaway also offer a packed lunch option if you'd prefer. As previously mentioned, we booked in to the restaurant upstairs in the Highland Getaway pub for dinner, we had brie bites and chicken tenders to start, beef madras and veggie chilli for main, and shared a Bailey's ice cream for dessert. This was all very welcome ahead of a long day of walking the next day. Breakfast was standard for a B&B of a cooked breakfast option, some pastries and some yoghurt, so no complaints with that.

The little town of Kinlochleven is situated innermost in a Scottish Highland valley where the economy is based on hydroelectric power, and until quite recently, production of aluminium. It is cosy and offers great opportunities for mountain hiking and fantastic views.

At first you go into the pub and may think this is where you were staying so first impressions may not be that good however as mentioned above the rooms are separate

Despite arriving later than planned due to retrieving lost luggage from Edinburgh airport, we were greeted with flexibility from our hosts. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pub/restaurant attached to the rooms. Unfortunately, we had missed dinner, but the warm welcome extended to a couple of enjoyable pints. Our room, though rustic, was spacious, quiet, and impeccably clean. The next morning, we were served a hearty full English breakfast. Throughout our stay, the staff's incredible friendliness and hospitality stood out, making our time in Glencoe truly enjoyable.

I had a room on the ground floor with direct access to the garden, in which I was on my own, on a beautiful day, so that was wonderful. From the garden there was a view of the river and mountains and a beautiful sunset. Check-in was quick and friendly and facilities were good. The room was comfortable and cozy, it was nice and quiet too. The food in the pub was very good en good value for money, definitely recommend.
