    Nothing. Everything was perfect

Our second time here. This time we brought my sister and brother in law here. The best food and the rooms are beautiful. Only one thing is, the room was hot and we didn't get a fan like my sister has in her room. But I'm sure if you ask they will give you one. Otherwise ths Hotel was soooo good thank you . Thanks again everyone ☺️

We were delighted with our stay at The Highdown. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was comfortably furnished, clean and very quiet. We very much enjoyed our breakfasts and when our family joined us on the second morning the staff quickly moved us to a larger table and served extra breakfasts without a moment’s hesitation! The hotel is beautifully situated next to Highdown Gardens which we enjoyed visiting during our stay. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay and hope to revisit one day.

Unfortunately no evening meal was available due to staffing issues ( we had made a reservation prior to our stay but had to find somewhere else for our evening meal. We were given a complimentary breakfast the following morning.

Beautiful location just outside Worthing - room was pleasant and cosy.

Shower wand needs a more secure fastening so it doesn't lurch and unexpectedly soak your hair. Rainfall shower, the water just trickled out so we had to use the wand. The coffee machine seemed a bit broken, just crushed the pods and didn't extract the coffee, just water, but again given how much well teams are doing in every other aspect, I would stay here again and again. Well done for building an incredible business with phenomenal customer experience

Ten out of ten across the board from the staff to the service to the menu design to the chef and dinner and breakfast, to the rooms, to the decor and the pub toilets, to the amenities and the surrounding grounds. Showers are a bit weird but a minor inconvenience considering how much the team are nailing

The fact on the website is says check in until 10:00pm. The bar shut too early and I had to buy 2 drinks and take them outside. I think this was not good enough as I was a resident staying there and had paid for a room. I was with my brother who travelled from Scotland we had a funeral the next day so we wanted an evening for drinks to catch up.

The room was lovely. Room 14 all clean.

No dressing gowns - I would have expected these for the room price. Instant coffee in the room rather than coffee bags.

The historical building and its heritage. The garden. Excellent food. Quality toiletries. Very comfortable room and pillows. Lovely shower.

I found in mid-shower that the container of conditioner in the shower was empty - not very convenient. On the first night of our stay we stopped by the bar for a drink after an evening out & found ourselves in an atmosphere-les space (it had earlier been very busy with diners), amid staff talking loudly to each other over our heads as they loudly cleared up & set out breakfast. We were the only people in the bar & felt quite uncomfortable. After we'd finished (we didn't stay for a 2nd drink) I approached the bar to return our empty glasses next to an apparently senior member of staff, who totally ignored me. Although other staff at other times were helpful & polite, this sort of blanking of a guest did the hotel no credit. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sample the good range of GF food on offer (one of the main reasons we had booked at The Highdown) due to a flood in the kitchen.

A great location - next to a beautiful free botanical garden & hill walks. The room was comfortable with opening windows, armchairs, a great shower & a comfortable bed. The location was peaceful. The lady on duty at breakfast was very helpful in providing a GF breakfast for my Coeliac husband.

I had quite a blunt / bordering on the rude response to my request to check out 30 minutes after 11am as we were going to Goodwood Racing. I was told the 2 rooms we had , were booked and we needed to vacate at 11am. I asked again could be leave at 11.30am and was then told the new guests were checking in early . Really, I thought we couldn't check in until 3pm. I was a bit annoyed , no apology was offered.

lovely room , dinner and breakfast.

Wonderful location, ideal for walking on the downs especially with a dog. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. An extra touch was a dog gift pack very thoughtful. Dog bed and water bowl provided. The food in the pub was adequate but not outstanding. Lovely staff. We enjoyed the stay.

Small bed, poor lighting and a bit dusty. Family member severely bitten by mosquitos at night as by a stream or river. No Aircon but fans provided. It was a nice stay however.

Clean bedding and towels. Plenty of areas to relax, get a coffee, boards games etc provided. Nice large old building. Quaint little coffee shop. Child and dog friendly.
