Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomcheckout is a little early at 10am
I was greeted with a very warm welcome from the staff. The room was large and very comfortable, tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. Also a nice touch is complimentary water and juices. Nice terrace out the back to enjoy the good choice of local beers from the bar. Plenty of car parking at the front and rear of the hotel, my motorcycle was tucked away safely. It’s a pleasant 10 minute walk to Settle across the river bridge. Food at the hotel was first class and reasonably priced for quality, the Sunday lunch in particular was great.

United KingdomThe only issue we found was the seal around the shower basin in the room had a little black mould growing. Due to the fact we knew this wasn't something that would be sorted straight away due to it being a DIY task we didn't feel as if was necessary to complain with all the great service we received.
Location was close to the wedding we was attending. Staff were very friendly and helpful when trying to plan public transport and meal times.

United KingdomOur room was at the front of the hotel and as we arrived on possibly the hottest day of the year, the windows had been left wide open which was beneficial. However, left open overnight resulted in some traffic noise, which we accept was unavoidable and didn't really bother us, although it may not be welcome for other customers. As previously mentioned the bathroom is looking a little tired but it didn't detract from our overall comfort in any way.
Excellent breakfast both in terms of quality and choice of breakfast items. Cooked breakfasts included locally sourced products which were well prepared and served. All staff were friendly and welcoming. We had two evening meals which again were excellent and plenty of choice from the menu. We travelled with our cocker spaniel and a bed was provided in our room for him together with a small bag of treats. We sat in a dog friendly area of the restaurant but didn't feel at all excluded - and there were plenty of other dog owners there too! The room was a reasonable size with clean, white linen and the bathroom with white fluffy towels. The shower was good, however the bathroom itself was starting to look a bit tired with a few cracks on the tiled floor and shower cubicle looking a bit worn. The toiletries provided was a nice touch and the welcome tray in the bedroom very welcome with tea, coffee and biscuits. Fresh milk was provided on the two fridges on the landing together with complimentary bottled water and fruit juices - again nice touches and very welcome. There is a nice park area not far from the hotel where our dog could have a good run around, and well located for morning and evening walks. We visited Clapham village, just a few miles down the road and did the Ingleborough Nature Trail (accessed for a small charge). Again because of the heat it was ideal, being canopied under trees most of the way. The path then opened with a small stream alongside where our dog happily splashed in the water and cooled off. We stopped at the head of Ingleborough Cave for a drink and loo stop, both of which were very welcome. The area has just the most stunning scenery.

United KingdomOnly thing we were disappointed about was there was a lovely beer garden, the weather was fantastic but they were not serving food outside. We did not want to eat inside on such a lovely day and as we were travelling with our dog find it more relaxing to be outside so therefore we ate outside elsewhere.
Lovely room, very clean and great access for dog. Really nice touch that we got some treats for the dog. Great breakfast.
