United KingdomIt's a little shabby, though the rooms themselves seem to have been recently renovated and are OK. The shower is over the bath (but works fine). If you have a room at the front of the building you will get noise from the street and the drinkers below - though that's quiet by about 11.30pm. However, the abbey bells peal the time all night - very quaint, but means the windows have to be closed unless you are a very deep sleeper!
It's a very centrally located hotel, part of a pub chain with bar food. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are helpful and welcoming. Plenty of parking at the rear.

United KingdomDecor needs an update, minimal tea and coffee options in the room. No aircon so had to have the windows open and the church bells chime loudly all through the night.
Perfect location for my needs, very central, could walk to everything. Room was very nice and big. Comfortable bed, lots of hot water. Parking was great, staff friendly and efficient.

United KingdomCould not open window due to handle being broken and was fairly hot (there was a small fan in the room) room was basic but ok we found the room a bit small for 2 people but it was only for 1 night so got on with it, the main issue was the flys around the eating area you were constantly brushing them away not ideal when trying to eat but no complaints about the food or service.
