    Nothing for the cost

It was a £45 room for a night, absolute bargain, clean, provided toiletries, bed was super comfy, was clean. The corridors were a bit dingy and there’s no lift, but for the money it was spot on. Staff were absolutely lovely too

Slightly uncomfortable bed and noise from upstairs was really loud. Fire alarm going off multiple times not just in my room but could hear it in other rooms on the floor we was staying on too.

Loved the sea view from the family room. I would stay here again, brakefast was nice good range of things to choose from. All staff were friendly and easy to talk to.

My room was on the ground floor & there was an unpleasant smell in the corridor, & a different unpleasant smell in the room the second night. There were too few plug sockets, & not within easy reach of the bed. I needed to rest & also inform family I had arrived safely, which I could not do simultaneously. If I had known this, I would have taken an extension cable.

I was told when booking that the room had no window. It did have a window, & a lovely view of the beach & sea.

Unfortunately the building is showing its age and lack of investment in upkeep. The public areas are still lovely but the bedroom was a bit shabby and in need of modernising.

Cleanliness and the entrance to the hotel, the doors were in an awful state, the glass and brass not cleaned at all, the entrance is important, it's the first impression for everyone.

The hotel is literally grand, but the cleanliness let it down, mirrors on the walls etc, dust on the lamp in my room, grubby shower door, filthy windows, filth on the skirting board, bed very clean though, just needs decent cleaners in. The entertainment was really good.

There were no plug sockets next to our bed. I requested an extension lead from reception to enable my husband to plug in his essential medical equipment. I was informed by staff they had none available but would provide one the next day. As we were only staying for 2 nights I felt this was unacceptable. The room was very small and not as nice as the pictures on the hotel website. There was a very limited variety of alcoholic drinks and no real ales. Apart from the entrance to the hotel, the rest of it looked a little unloved.

The reception area and staircase were beautiful. The hotel was close to the beach and we were able to park our car directly outside. The staff were very friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel so are not able to comment on the food.

Sadly cleaning is an issue. Everywhere was dirty. Both of our rooms, although bedding changed and towels, the room had not been vacuumed, bins still had previous occupants rubbish in, bits on floor, windowsill full of dust & muck, windows filthy both inside & out, bath dirty & stained, shower curtain filthy.. Thankfully only a one night stop!

The location is spot on, long term parking was just around the corner and cheap. Breakfast was good,

My room was like an oven, the fan i had was broken but these are little problems compared to my bathroom, the sink sprays water at you the fawcett has a hole in the end. the toilet hardly flushed and has fallen away from the wall. The shower, it was filthy honestly couldn't use it, there was a Build up of skin in the corner and wasn't very clean at all, the TV remote is disgusting and needs replacing ASAP its covered in months old skin and people's grubby hands really could do with a clean!!

Mis matched, cheap, modern bedroom furniture. I was expecting the bedrooms to be a little grander in style with solid furniture. Bedroom curtains hanging off. Mould on bath seal and holes in cladding at end of bath. Buckets of water everywhere, I’m assuming for leaks?

    Fantastic building!

The hotel could be so much more if only they knew that the facilities and staff is what make a stay pleasurable. Probably charge a bit more but atleast offer what the other hotels offer for the same price like cleaning of the rooms during the stay. The reception staff could be more friendly. The check out time for weekends is stated as 11 AM and the cleaning staff came banging on the door at 10:15 and asked why haven’t we checked out yet. When we mentioned that to the receptionist, the response was “thankyou”. The hotel can be so good with some improvements.

The location was awesome and the old building has its own charm.

The floor in our room and the room above our room was very noisy when moving about which was not very good in the middle of the night when trying to sleep

Location and nostalgic feel had a good view which I was hoping for needs a lot of attention to the interior and exterior Stayed on a bank holiday weekend so expensive for the lack of quality or luxury

BRITANNIA GROUP needs to check it’s maintenance this is a few attention to details there was a stain on the throw of my friends bed, the soap dispenser was broken the shower head wasn’t clean and parts missing At the back pathway to the beach the hotel building was covered in big clumps of seagull poo and as you walked past it not only could you see it but SMELL IT TOO!!

Close to the beach and shops and facilities Didn’t really explore the hotel or use facilities or eat there so can’t comment as was out exploring.

No room for left luggage for early arrival or late leaving (after check out no where to store luggage). Evening meal was like going back to School Dinners. Needs a restaurant with a menus, waitress service etc. At breakfast the juice and hot drinks were shut down at 9.30 just to annoy the guests. Breakfast staff were not helpful.

    Superb location
